England - Australia

comment on the article

Morning everyone,

Tom Fordyce will shortly be bringing you the live text commentary for the final day of the second Test between England and Australia at Lord's.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cri...

So, will it be an historic victory or a record-breaking defeat for England? Can England ease the tension with a couple of early wickets, or will the Aussies push on like at Edgbaston in 2005?

Do get involved and join the debate.

There is no room for booing in cricket.

Agreed, and I would never condone anyone booing Ricky, no matter how badly he behaves sometimes.

But he was cheered today, when he conceeded gracefully, lets hope this continues on both sides.

Lets just hope Fred makes it to Birmingham or Anderson will be fighting the cause alone. Broad and Onions don't look dangerous enough.

If there's no Flintoff then surely we need Harmison?

Bit of a shame it finished so soon. I was looking forward to seeing when the Australian physio would start making appearances.

Could be interesting to see how Monty fares v the Aussies at Northampton. - Not that I'd change this team. Just curious.

you shouldn't boo in the presentation, but Ricky Ponting seems to take the 5 days of abuse as part of the job so fair play to him on that one

Gents, I think we may be jumping the gun here.

Do not expect the Edgebaston pitch to behave in anything like the way the Lords one did. I fully expect it to be quicker, more uneven, and the Onions's and Broads will get a lot more assistance.

You have to appreciate what a remarkable result it was to get a win against the Aussies on THAT pitch. We will not have the same problem getting 20 wickets at Edgebaston. For Edgebaston, the focus must turn to the batting.

Great win for England. The Aussies were dominated throughout. They had a chance when they were only 6 wickets down, but after that they dropped like flies.

Hailing Flintoff the hero seems a bit OTT. 5 wickets, 1 of which was a no ball and 2 tail enders, and you're calling him Sir Fred...
