So, John Terry has gone off the USA with Chelsea.

Does this mean he stays at Chelsea?

My take on it is like this; The tour is a money making exercise like all the rest. People want to see the "Mr Chelsea" they have heard so much about. The tour without him would be devalued. Sponsors would be up in arms.

He was there for the new shirt launch, Why, because if he wasn't, everyone would say he must be off to City.

Shevchenko is on the tour as well, is he staying?

I still think he will join City after the tour.

What do you think?

Is that what being a 'Big Club' is about? Top 4 and Champions League? So what happens when you're not in the top 4 or the Champions League? Do you cease to become a 'Big Club'?
If Hull had clung on to fourth spot last year, would that have made them bigger than Tottenham?

Its not about success, is it? Its about loyalty, identity and tradition. Clubs like Spurs, Villa, Wolves, Everton, West Ham, Leeds, as well as City all (rightly) consider themselves to be Big clubs. None of them have had a great deal to shout about for a while, but they maintain big gates and huge loyalty. A combination of bad management and ill-advised investment has affected them all at some point. When a club goes down to the third tier and you look around you and see 30,000 supporters singing their hearts out, still as loyal as ever, you know you're supporting a proper club. And one which won't be sneered at by any Johnny-come-latelys.

So you think chelsea aren't a big club because according to you we don't have loyal supporters, and that makes all the clubs you mentioned above bigger than the top 4, even though we have had more success than them?

Your comments still don't make any sense.......

Chelsea are 5th in the all time football league attendance list:

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/real-football/373861-all-time-english-league-attendance-records.html

You make the mistake a lot of people make of thinking that our fall in attendance when we previously visited the 2nd tier of English league football to be some kind of disloyalty. In fact it had more to do with the redevelopment of the ground.

You should know what you're talking about before you open your mouth.... Donkey!

@Donkeysh*t. You try and compare Man city with Chelsea sizewise. The crowds at Stamford bridge have always been better than our successes. We would pull in crowds of 60 - 70,000 way before we won anything. We once pulled in a figure of over 100,000 for a friendly, and that is a national record. When we were struggling in the second division, we still managed 30,000 v West Ham, 32,000 v Newcastle and 45,000 v Liverpool and Tottenham in the cup. That was way before Abramovic, and before the current successes.

Below is more paper gossip but not looking good if Lamps is making statements like this :

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has urged fans not to criticise club "legend" and team-mate John Terry if he decides to leave the Stamford Bridge outfit. The England defender has been targeted by Manchester City.

The Cheif excutive (kenyon) says he wont b sold, the chairman (bruce buck) says he wont b sold, and the finally the manager (ancelotti) has said he wont b sold, thats pretty comprehensive to me that hes going nowhere!
by the end of the week terry will either sign a new five year deal or he will say as he did in january, he doesnt want to play for any other club, hes chelsea for life. as far as he is concerned, he probably finds it highly amusing how a club like city reckon they can sign him they cant afford him, why should he persistantly say hes staying, when we all know he will anyway.

Any City fan who thinks Terry is going to join them is simply deluded. Why would a player who consistently plays CL football and competes (seriously) for every other domestic trophy join a team that aren't even in the UEFA Cup next year?

To me it's blatently obvious what he's doing. Let one club offer you £200k (ish) per week and let your current club sweat on the fact you may join and force them to offer you more money to stay. It's Frank Lampard all over again. He'll stall until Chelsea increase his salary and then he'll sign a new deal. City are being USED by John Terry so take off your blue-tinted glasses and think about this logically for a second! Terry is staying at Chelsea.
