Is Tiger loosing his touch?

The Open

Hello everyone

just want to see what the thoughts are on Tiger Woods loosing his touch in the Major Events? To me, yesterday he looked to be very rattled at times and has developed a sulking attitude a bit like Monty when he hits a poor shot.

I for one am not used to seeing this. Is it a sign that he is passing his best and is begining to realise that his game is vunerable now as he getting older, and is the thought of being caught by the younger golfers getting to him?

Refusing to talk to the press after his round is not like him either. There is obviously an immense amount of pressure on these golfers today as there is with all top athletes but for god sake cant these stars begin to show some humour or at least smile once in a while to prove that the sport they play is not a chore but something to be really enjoyed.

For me Tiger looks unsettled and i think when the course bites back today with the weather closing in, it will get even harder for him to improve his attitude.

your thoughts on this would be great

He's human for crying out loud, his expectations are that much higher than everyone elses and if that means he gets disgruntled then fair enough. Give the guy a break.

He got the good and bad yesterday, with a very topsy turvey round, and I suspect what really got to him was good putts that didn't drop.

I fully expect Tiger to be there, or thereabouts on Sunday.

Tiger is one of those players, either you love him or hate him. he gives aa persona that is of a petulant, sulky brat, but, you hear of stories that he called Darren Clarke and pleaded with to play in the Ryder Cup, "it wouldn't be the same without you", and who is there to congratulate him on his singles win/ Tiger! He is a pefectionist, he has to learn that perfection is not always achievable, at least, not to mere mortals. In short, someone tell him to undo his shorts and relax!

You can't argue that Tiger Woods isn't the best player around at the moment, but I'm fed up with people always trying to say who's the greatest in any particular sport.
I've never hidden the fact that for me Jack Nicklaus is my greatest ever, and not just for his skill but the way he handled himself at all times.
However I would like to make one comparison.
Just think about this, there are different levels of greatness.
When Jack turned pro we already had Arnold Palmer well established, Gary Player just a few years into a great career, then just a few years after along comes Tom Watson.
ALL of these players could rightly be called the greatest if any one of the others hadn't been around.
Name me just one player you could call the greatest other than Tiger Woods through his career?
Also just think of all the other players you could mention through Jack's career.

PartTimeHobo,

Whatever the definition is of a 'good putt which doesn't drop', I'm guessing TW wasn't the only player who hit some yesterday.
I didn't see too many other players throwing clubs etc.

Tiger has a history of underperformance when conditions are less than perfect particularly in the Open.

You wait until St Andrews next year, with its wide open fairways Tiger will be in his element
