I am a big Faldo fan. Along with the improvements courses (eg Augusta) have also become harder/longer. it is not an easy comparison to make. But I believe faldo would simply be overpowered...personal opinion. Faldo was the master strategist though. Something Woods has learned from.

vancouveral (U11193243) posted Jul 16, 2009 Love him or hate him Faldo was certainly England`s best ever golfer. He was World #1 for quite sometime and that is a very great achievement. How long before his record is equalled or bettered by another Englishman. He did have a knack for making himself very unpopular with his peers but maybe that is what made him so successful his ruthlessness and the intimidation factor. Not all successful people are loved but some are so determined to win that they will try anything, short of criminal, to do it. I just cannot see any of the current England`s players matching him.

vancouveral (U11193243) posted Jul 16, 2009 jimmy-dean-2009. We expats have a little hope when on the morning of the Sunday in a major there are two or three Englishmen in contention but in the evening there is none on the leader board never mind as winner.

lordbiggs1 (U14072183) posted Jul 17, 2009 Jimmy dean...get a grip mate. Faldo at his best beating Woods...u drunk mate? Faldo was the expert at hanging around. Open in '87 Azinger threw it away..Masters '89 Hoch missed a 2 footer!, '90 Floyd threw the masters away, the list goes on. Open in '90 was a true win by Faldo. 96 masters Norman lost it, '92 open, lost again by John Cook lost it. yet you maintain Faldo is better than Woods. yeah...great logic!!!

lordbiggs1 (U14072183) posted Jul 17, 2009 I think the real issue in World Golf today...and I've noticed a lot of this, is why does Tiger Woods not get the respect he deserves. Lets get it right. 14 Majors...EVERY player whether they admit it or not FEARS him. Best player in the world today 2nd best ever until he beats the record by Nicklaus. All this talk I hear of a slump...Tigers not as good since he came back. RUBBISH!! Comment on this article |
