Cant always be lucky enough to have good prospects coming through every year... Its just not possible to sustain it.. At least Bluey has recognised it and is doing something.

here we go again have a go at leeds.... AMOR was courted by several super league teams Leeds just got there first. Pitts has played SL and held his own i can see the logic in signing a player out of contract this season for potential future gains. As for Coady well havin seen him in flesh he has size skill and speed but i wait to see if he can truly make the step up. Dont forget if things fail they can always be loaned out to lower league or allowed to leave so now is there chase to really give it there all if they want to succeed.

Have a little faith. The Rhinos will come good the people responsible for the development of the younger players at Headingley have always done a first rate job. How can signing talented young players be a bad thing?

Absolute rubbish original post, Pitts and Ambler are very promising youngsters and the Rhinos should be given credit in wanting to bring them on rather that waste money on overseas imports.
Time will tell whether both players make their mark in SL but they have the size and ability to give it a real go.

Leeds do have a good academy setup but I think lots of rhinos fans get carried away because we had a bumper crop that included McGuire, Burrow, JJB, Sinfield et al that all came into the first team around the same time. It must be very difficult to do that with every crop of youngsters. Some just don't have the talent, size or speed for the top flight. If this means we need to look further afield for youngsters and take them from other teams then I am all for that if it makes the Rhinos a better team in the long run. It does not spell the end for the Rhinos academy.

The coaching staff have already aid the the current forwards in our reserves/acadamy are a couple of seasons away from the SL at elite level so the signings have bolstered that somewhat.
All these young lads have stacks of potential but some players take a bit longer to develop that's all.
Plus lets not forget a lot of oue reserve grade forwards still qualify for the u18's so there's hardly a failure at that level.
The new dual registration will help next year also where there'll be many of these lads playing in the national leagues which in turn will aid their development more than the current system.
As for anyone having a dig at the leeds acadamy system HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA still plenty more to come you just worry about yer own clubs!

I wasnt having a dig at your academy system i was pointing out that it was a leeds fan who was slating these young players yet still praises the academy! shouldnt gavski let your coaches et hold of the players and let them mould them to the way the rhinos want them to play and then comment when they have had time at the club??

Jay Pitts is an excellent prospect. A good final 3rd to the season and he could play himself into England contention. It would be good to see a new face in the forwards.

Given the amount of juniors Leeds have promoted from within their ranks over the past two seasons, one year of having no prospects coming through hardly matters.
