Would you want Beckham at your club?

World Cup England
comment on the article

David Beckham says he would consider a return to a Premier League club if it would boost his chances of playing at the 2010 World Cup for England.

The former national skipper is currently playing with LA Galaxy in America, although a possible move back to AC Milan, where he has just finished a five-month loan deal looks likely.

When he left Manchester United to join Real Madrid in 2003, he said that he would never play for another English club in the Premier League.

But time has softened Beckham and he now says he could return.

The obvious link is with Chelsea because new Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti took Beckham to Milan in January of this year and was impressed with the 34-year-old's fitness.

Do you see him at Stamford Bridge? A possible return to Old Trafford? Or maybe alongside Steven Gerrard at Liverpool? Stranger things have happened! Would you want him at your club?

Good to see Brand Beckham exposed for what it really is. It is nothing more than the thinnest coat of PR veneer but now people are starting to see what's hiding behind it and it's not what it's cracked up to be.

He's just a sulky selfish kid who wants it all his own way (and usually gets it) and doesn't like people that disagree with him.

Mystic..........

A 'freeish role'? Most of his career he has never played on the wing'?

Are we talking about the same David Beckham here? The one I have watched has been...dare I say 'passionate' about sticking as close to the touchline as possible for 95 per cent of his career so that he can send over those famous 'trademark' crosses of his.

And on the few occasions managers have played him in a central role the experiment has been quickly ended as it will be by Capello, the Andorra 'game' notwithstanding.

Let's be clear about this. Beckham is about as 'RM' as you can get. That is what he has always done as a professional footballer... played right midfield. Could the freeish role you refer to be explained by the countless times he has roamed out of position? Even Landon Donovan alluded to this at Galaxy.

Croakey,he wont be coming to the Premier league it is to quick for him.He will not have any time on the ball that is why he fancies Italy again,it is more his pace. You say you have seen all his England games in central midfield.Tell us a bit more about his abysmal performance against Northern Ireland. You know, the one we lost.

Beckham was talking up his desire to play in the role for some time before the Northern Ireland game, even though he'd never played there before.

Surely you don't imagine this unique role was Sven's idea?

it matters little coz- sven had the decision to exept beckhams stratergy- we can only blame the manager

we have had this discussion many times over- its immaterial where the idea came from- its svens fault- he created the problems with becks..
