Top player, top bloke, can still do a job for us this season, even if we do sign another centre mid.

Let the WUM's have their say, because whatever bile they spout, we don't care. Rory has been immense for us - a more skillfull player than many will recognise, a team player, a good bloke and fully deserving of his contract and place in the Premier League.

Starting eleven for me next year, although I fear he will start to see more of the bench, good on ya Rory for signing though.

He is defying the logic that suggests that it is hard to play at the top level at a lower club at the advancing stage of your career. But, at 33, Rory Delap was a very key player last season in Stoke's magnificent and valiant battle against relegation. Whilst he is still doing the job, age should not be a matter and this suggests that this contract will be the final one of his career.

Of course, his long throw ins have been idolised at the Brittanica Stadium and he is a fans favourite for his workmanlike efforts during matches. If Delap was not in the side, then Stoke's main attacking weapon would have been nullified and they would have to come up with a Plan B. Whilst playing well, he is guaranteed a place in the starting line up due to the added dimensions he can bring to the fray.

A quality player who has been capped at international level, he brings added experience and leadership. This is a great piece of news for all associated with Stoke City.

Maga The Urn - fair play, nice to see some appreciation for Rory, usually Rory only gets mentioned for his long throws. we stoke fans know of his great work rate, we see it week in, week out but he doesnt get enough credit. the guy is an inspiration, coming back from that horrific injury he suffered, fracturing his tibula and fibula when he was on loan at stoke originally. his charity bike rides for Donna Louise shows what a selfless, great bloke he is

Love seeing how "better players" and managers get annoyed by him. No such thing as a bad goal is there? he is such a leveller!! as an Ireland fan I cannot see why he is not in the squad.
