It's official, Carl Froch has signed up to take part in the up and coming Super Six series. This tournament will also star Froch's first challenger Andre Dirrell, Andre Ward, Arthur Abraham, Mikkel Kessler and Jermain Taylor.

Each participant has the right to fight any and possibly all of the five other contestants.
The Cobra kicks off the event when he defends his WBC super middleweight title against American Dirrell in Nottingham.

I think this is exactly what boxing, or more precisely the 168lb limit, needs. Well done Showtime.

We're in for some glamourous times ahead, with Abraham completing his switch to the big time, Dirrell and Ward stepping up, Kessler returning to test himself, Taylor bouncing back and last but not least, Froch continuing his quest to prove that he can conquer the division.

I can't wait, what about you?

boxing needs to get its house in order. fair play to them all for signing up to this concept. its new and interesting and it'll be good to see what it does to boxing in general, particularly the other divisions.

Can you imagine this in welterweight? Cotto, Margarito (if and when he comes back), mayweather, pacquiao (?), Mosley, Marquez (?) or Paul Williams

Bute is otherwise engaged as Andrade is getting a second chance. That is why he was not included. As for these comments on Pavlik and Dawson, aside from the obvious, Pavlik is in a legal bind with Mora and Dawson has a second date with Johnson. Ward looked good against Miranda to make him number 1 ranked by the WBC, and Dirrell's style will also prove a good contrast against the power players like Abraham, so this is an overwhelmingly promising event.

leeboy 3000, i agree with dirrell and ward not being first rate, but arther abraham is one of the two worlds best middleweights. the title is between him and kessler.
