It was reported in the press on July 11, 2009 that Gatti was found dead at a condo in Brazil.

Although he was not a great boxer and will never be mentioned in the same breath as Sugar Ray Robinson, Henry Armstong, Carlos Monzon or Muhammad Ali he will be remembered as a fighter who gave his all in the ring and will always be remembered for his trilogy with Micky Ward.

I hope the catch whoever did this (whether it was his wife or not, who knows) and they are punished for the crime they commited.
