Diamond and the frenchie!

Aberdeen

Really pleased to see Diamond wants the captains armband. Showing a nice degree of commitment to the club even though he is a Celtic supported. It is really nice to see someone who really wants to play for the club and appreciates team!

There was never any doubt about him being committed to Aberdeen, its just some positive news. I also read we are getting a frenchie on trial. Over the last few seasons i can remember some guy Rocco that was decent and then nicalas fabiano (oh dear), Toni Kombuarie but i cant think of any other players in recent years that have been at the club. Obviously Bossu is here at the mo but can anyone remember any others?

Diamond is easily the best choice for captain. Obviously loyal (well, being here your entire career give little choice) and a good, teamworking player as well as a fan favourite. No other choice really.

I watched Di Rocco but I don't remember him being any good, Toni was class even if he had no pace and Delomeaux was either superb or awful, depending on his mood. Let's hope this guy is good enough to strengthen the squad. Perhaps it's really a Belgian and it's Emile M'penza. Sadly I think that's wishful thinking

One other French player we took in was Laurent D'Jaffo let's hope this trialist is better than that donkey

I'm not sure D'Jaffo was properly french.I think it might have been a former colony he was from, but yeah- he was mince.

D'Jaffo was born in France but moved to Benin when he was about 2.

Anybody remember his 'wondergoal' against Dunfermline at Pittodrie. Scored at the Merkland End. Stretched for the ball with his left foot and it lobbed over the keeper?

Shame he pulled his hamstring during it sadface

I remember when we were linked to Patrice (Patrick) Loko... and on one of the Dons sites there was a petition ( I was about 19 at the time), anyhoo... I got a signed photo from Patrice saying thanks and wishes AFC all the best... would have been a good signing I thinks.

Hans.

I'm almost 100% sure that French Internationalist and world cup winner Loko, turned out to be Eugine Dadi!!

Did the club not release a statement saying we had a french forward on trial, someone from the P&J got a glimpse of Dadi with his dreds & physique, put two and two together and came up with Patrice Loko???
