Hamilton Tops Times

comment on the article

Lewis Hamilton's McLaren is faster in 2nd practice than both Brawns and both Red Bulls. That clearly displays the skill of Hamilton to make a slow package perform. Lets hope he can carry the speed through the weekend now.

Can't wait for Saturday... half the people can shout I TOLD YOU SO!, while the other half will either shy away, or make ill informed arguements to save face.

Bring on Saturday!

It must bea sign of desperation when people are pouring over the tea leaves of Friday practise.
Until the cars are racing against the clock this afternoon will you get any true idea of who is getting what from the cars.
To suggest Hamilton is getting something special out of a slow car is forgotting that he has been outqualified by his team mate in the last two GPs, and posted similar race results, when both were running.
Hamilton needs to get some serious points if he is to be considered along the likes of Lauda, Villeneuve (G) and Schumacher for getting the best from an absolute pig of a car.

who cares about fuel loads, all the teams have the opportunity to run low fuel loads, I tend to look for the positives and that being it will be great for the sport to see Renault, Mclaren and Ferrari scrapping for the victories... I hope this second half of this season gets turned right around and put egg on the faces of all those here who said the championship is over <laugh> it may still be buttons/bgp championship at the end but fingers crossed he/they will have to work extra hard for it.

Re "king alonso etc" - I presume you are saying Lewis is not a top driver. What facts are you basing that on?

Apex... <erm> Seems like your smile is going to be wiped off come QF. Alonso finished P2 in practice 3.. Realistically though I expect him to QF around P6/P8 taking into account fuel loads...NOT where he finished in practice

Mclaren may have improved but not by that much

We will see who will eat their words after QF

Left Toe

Im just keeping it REAL. No point hyping anyones performance up only for them to struggle to get in to Q3!

Bloodnik

I rate Hamilton as one of the top 5 drivers in F1 BUT from what we have seen with Button and his "Magic" transformation from back end of the grid to front, its all about having the right CAR which in turn leads me to believe the top F1 drivers are equally matched...

You we're saying? Through to Q3. P5.

We're waiting for the anti Hamilton fan boys to shy away and make ill informed comments to save face. <laugh>

No matter what anyone says Hamilton is world champion and he will prove in the coming years he is one of the best drivers of all time.

"Lets put it this way, If you put any top driver in that Mclaren they would do the same times if not better"

Alonso isn't a top driver? It's hilarious how the guy is world champion and these idiots still don't recognise how good he is. And he did it in the 2nd best car.

Learn to read before you make such comments. My point was it doesnt take "SKILL" to finish P1 in practice on a low fuel load. Anyone can do the same

As for Hamilton being in the second best car in 08 <erm>

The Mclaren was superior to the Ferrari in wet conditions whereas the Mclaren was much better in the dry. In that sense the cars were more or less on par. It all varied upon track condition

As for me not recognising how good Hamilton is <doh> Oh my days. You are having a laugh arent you? I did say all the "top" drivers were equally matched. That includes the likes of Alonso, Hamilton etc
