No Team Orders in Red Bull

comment on the article

Mark Webber has said that even if Seb Vettel beats him on Sunday, Red Bull will not impose team orders on him so he will in effect still be racing for points in the WDC. Red Bull want the best points finish for both their cars to challenge for WCC. Vettel has not always beaten Webber and Mark is not only due, but deserves a win for the excellent drives he has put in after breaking his leg and driving with steel pins in it. I would love to see him on the top of the podium at the Nurburgring.

I'm sure there's a few drivers have said/thought that over the years. The team may well have told him that? but when it comes down to decision time - fairness or giving one driver the best chance to win the WDC... erm

And asking Webber to switch places with Vettel isn't going to make any diffirence to constructors points.

The new car tech goes to Hamilton even though Heikki has had the measure of him for most of the season....how British. "Equal treatment of drivers" just another of Dennis and Whimarsh's lies.

I don't think Vettel has shown so much more than Webber so far. Okay, he's been faster in qualifying and has won two GPs, but Webber has stayed so close to him throughout the year that I couldn't understand if the team decides to give Vettel the "first-drive" treatment. Seb is World-Champion material, true, but he's inconsistent, something that Webber, now with a very good car, has shown to be. And I'm sure Webber will win this year, maybe even here. Remember his performance in Nurburgring 2007...
The fact that he recovered so well from his leg and shoulder injuries adds up to show how ambitious he is. I just wish Webber can win this weekend!

More nonsense from spectacularstever:

So far, this season, Lewis has more than twice as many points as Heikki. If there is only one set of "new car tech" parts what criteria should be used to decide who gets them if it's not points?

More to the point, this thread is about Red Bull, not McLaren so he is just spamming to be honest.

I would love to see MW get a win for Red Bull - I think he is a top bloke and if he gets into a positions where he can win a race I'd be gutted for him if any kind of team orders robbed him of the opportunity.

"You know nothing about the psychological damage a huge crash and breaking a leg does to most drivers career .. you are totally disrespectful

Schumacher is the only one who broke his leg and recovered

People like Panis and Herbert broke their legs and never fulfilled their early promise"

Bunch of overpaid blouses. The MotoGP boys regularly break bones from horrendous crashes and carry on riding, part and parcel of their sport. Lorenzo was riding last year with two broken ankles, and Pedrosa won last week with a fractured femur! As I said, bunch of blouses.

Hope Mark gets a win on the weekend and I agree with most of the people posting about team orders but wucash has a point. If RBR want to win the WDC there going to have support one driver. Im not saying now, but it need's to be considered when your reaching the last few races and its vital for one of the drivers to win races. Sorry for bringing Mclaren into a RBR article but they clearly showed what happens when two team mates battle it out, they both loose.

Couldn't possibly be anything to do with one of their drivers being reigning world champion could do. No, let's not let logic get in the way of a good xenophobic rant.

Can't believe all the hype after Silverstone - 'the Championship has been blown wide open with Vettel now hot on Button's tail...etc.' it's 6 win against 2, Button is still 25 points ahead, Vettel isn't even second. Goodness, the leader doesn't do particularly well in a race and the other guy wins it, big deal. you'd have thought Brawn GP are going to crash out of all races from now on, cos I tell you, it'll take something like that for Vettel to be World Champion.
