Halford appears to have arrived...

Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers
comment on the article

....at least according to the E&S. "A minor matter between the 24-year-old utility man and the Black Cats has been resolved for him to become Wolves’ third signing of the week"

Good news, I think, a very versatile and valuable addition to the squad, who shone for Sheffield United in their great run at the end of last season. Young, talented, and able to chip in with goals....

I seem to remember Curbs. getting Charlton to 6th in the prem. Then the fans wanted more so he left. Remind me if you will, what happened next.

MM is doing a great job and Halford is another potential star.
Can't wait for the season to start.

Anyone who doesn't realise that Curbs was a superb manager at Charlton really doesn't understand football at all. He may have been poor at West Ham, but that shouldn't detract from his excellence at the Valley...

yikes How can anybody get excited by such a signing? It will take a lot more than signing journeymen to sustain life in the Premiership. Come on McCarthy, raise your sights. Wolves belong in the Premiership - remember the DOOG !!

Oh dear, MM buys a good utility player who can challenge for the squad and fans still moan F*^&!NG TRUST HIM!!!

Its like you going into work, making the company an extra £60,000,000 and then a bunch of people telling you how carp you are and how to do your job.

Im happy as anything, really optimistic and cant wait for the season to get going

GET A GRIP ALL OF YOU!!

I'm a Colchester fan and really think that Halford could be good for you guys. What he really needs is to simply settle down - too many clubs since leaving the Super U's has meant he's never really hit his stride.

Play him on the wing or up front in an emergency - but he's not one for the crunching tackles.

Good luck Greg!

Keane signed Halford from Colchester because when Sunderland played them in the championship, Halford was the star man and Keane was impressed enough by that game to sign him for 2.5 million.

In the games he played at sunderland he looked like a liability however and after being given his chance at the start of the 07/08 season he quickly dropped down the pecking order.

I was surprised that we actually managed to get real money for him rather than a trade for a new, fully stocked, stationary cupboard.
