Has Lee done enough?

The Ashes Australia

Australia's stand out bowler today, by all accounts.

I watched a few overs this afternoon and his pace rarely dropped below 93 mph

I couldn't understand why he was bowling so full to the lions openers, but clearly his brief was to try and get reverse swing going. In the end he cleaned up the top order.

Does this now make him a certainty for Cardiff along with the absent Siddle?

Will Ponting now go with 4 seamers and drop Hauritz?

Brett Lee is always a dangerman - he will deliver 170 km/h in Tests - He will transform into a Thommo and with Siddle they can become a Lillee-Thommo of yesteryears

but Hoggy, Flintoff, and Sajjid Mohamed can hurl the red chery at 180 km/h, and can harry the Aussies

it will be interesting to see this "ashes alone matters" contest - even the world nations and their respective Presidents have pledged to watch Ashes ball by ball - the world will come to a standstill during Ashes - people will be in front of TV, no food , no movement - time alone will move

speed guns in England need to be looked at properly......at the T20 world cup kallis got up 90mph...luke wright got up to 86mph...plus anderson and broad against the windies were in the 90s too.

fair and balanced fan,

Are you aware of the conversion rates from mph to kph?

170kph is in excess of 105mph

180 kph is nearer to 112mph

That would be pretty spectacular bowling in my view

I look forward to it

but I won't hold my breath whilst waiting for it

enjoy the ashes!

Lee Lee Lee Lee that is the bowling order for the Oz.

With out Lee it is a recipe for disaster.

By the way Lee I thought bowls at about 160-165K max. And who are these bowlers in the Eng side who go 180K (Comment by one writer above). Can someone explain please.

Oz are hot favorites to win ashes. Poms well well I cannot see them winning. The do not have punch in their side. The Eng team's performance is like the English weather. One never knows which way it goes. Can global warming change things for them like their weather?

Good luck to both the teams.

To josh4 england .'Just to let you know that my erudite post detailing my reason for stating that the poms had played Lee into the first test and casting aspersions on your IQ and paternity have been unjustly removed.

'These poms are a devious and duplicitous lot'

So what is Warne bowling nothing but leg breaks to Hink so he gets a hundred?

I don't think so. Unless Australia play four pace bowlers, which is not a bad idea. Pure pace doesn't get top class batsmen out, I would have rather seen lee bowling fast outswingers, but good to see him on the improve

Johs 4 eng.
who the hell is hink?never heard of him.
I now also think that the poms have bowled tripe to North so he got 100 and an entree into the first test. I stand by my original statement "the poms are a devious and duplicitous lot"
The success of Lee and North is the Poms blowing smoke up the collective a@s@s of the Aussie selectors.
