But here's the team listing.

15 Rob Kearney (Leinster / Ireland)
14 Ugo Monye (Harlequins / England)
13 Tommy Bowe (Ospreys / Ireland)
12 Riki Flutey (London Wasps / England)
11 Shane Williams (Ospreys / Wales)
10 Stephen Jones (Scarlets / Wales)
9 Mike Phillips (Ospreys / Wales)

8 Jamie Heaslip (Leinster / Ireland)
7 Martyn Williams (Cardiff Blues / Wales)
6 Joe Worsley (London Wasps / England)
5 Paul O’Connell (Munster / Ireland, Captain)
4 Simon Shaw (London Wasps / England)
3 Phil Vickery (London Wasps / England)
2 Matthew Rees (Scarlets / Wales)
1 Andrew Sheridan (Sale Sharks / England)

Replacements

16 Ross Ford (Edinburgh / Scotland)
17 John Hayes (Munster / Ireland)
18 Alun-Wyn Jones (Ospreys / Wales)
19 David Wallace (Munster / Ireland)
20 Tom Croft (Leicester Tigers / England)
21 Harry Ellis (Leicester Tigers / England)
22 James Hook (Ospreys / Wales)

My main thoughts are what the hell is Shane Williams doing starting a match? What did Fitzgerald do wrong to justify being dropped from the squad and what did Croft do wrong/Worsley do right to justify that switch?

"The eyes will be on the ref, so Spingboks will have the cheating nullified hopefully."

I still, after nearly a week and watching the game 4 times, cannot wrap my mind around how blinkered some of the lions supporters on this forum are.
the vast majority of the match officials poor decisions, or leniant calls went the way of the Lions. Numerous indiscretions by Sheridan in the breakdown went completely unpunished. (including but not limited to the blatant low blow) the vast majority of high tackles and illegal shoulder charges, including at least one dangerous and malicious high tackle and a shoulder charge that caused serious injury, came from the lions and went completely unpunished. the last high tackle from Shaw was probably going to be yellow carded by the ref until the SH linesman intervened and told the ref "to only award a penalty"

Burger sticks his hand in the face of an opponent in the first 30 seconds of the game, and deservedly gets sinbinned, and from that point on the Lions fans feel justified in ignoring all the dirty tactics by their own team and simply brand the entire SA team as cheats just because some of the lions got injured later in the game.
Watch carefully, most of the injuries occured due to attempted foul play by the Lions. BOD attempted shoulder charge which gave him the concussion is a case in point.
Jones had is arm on the wrong side of the ruck and should have expected someone to try to clear it out, and he or sheridan would have done exactly the same had it been Botha's arm sticking out.

Get over it... move on. this constant whining about SA being cheats doesn't do you any favours. Just make you look like children.

to all the genuine lions fans out there that have appreciated a really hard fought and courageous effort by both teams, this is not aimed at you.
Lets hope for some free flowing exciting rugby this weekend and I predict a very close game. definately within 7 points, and hard to call the winner again. Expect some magic from the new boks to be the difference in the end.

What does POC have to do to get dropped from a Lions team? Can't see what he has brought to the tests that Hines cannot bring - and Hines is bigger and more aggressive (which is exactly what you need against any Boks pack).

Red Dill Pickle, I'm a Brit, and I have to say, I totally agree with your comments. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good game, with not whinging from team supporters afterwards.
But we know that's not going to happen.

Go Lions.

Eye gouging is not sticking a hand in someones face!! And the sin-binning was way too lenient, any rugby fan will agree it should have been a straight red!!

All I can think is the Lions are going to run the Boks of their feet, and if they get the ball, doubtful, they could do it, tries tries tries, but who for, me thinks the Boks.

4 Wasps, 6 Welsh, think the management team has decided to give their martes a run out, and the commitment to playing players on form has gone out the window. what is the point on bringing over players if you are not going to play them. if this is the depth of NH rugby we're in real trouble.
