Murray plays a very intelligent game, honing in on his opponents weaknesses, making him very hard to play against. only 2 players have a positive wins:losses ratio against Roger Federer: Nadal and, yes that's right, Andy Murray.

If Murray and Federer do make the final i reckon Federer has to be the favourite but Murray is so confident in his ability he will not be intimidated. And Federer knows this; Murray would be his least favourite opponent of all the remaining players.

Why is this featured on the McIndoe/Henman opinions on Murray column?

Murray knows where he stands and so does everyone else!

I am afraid famousbobjones may be over-rated in his writing. Okay, you have an opinion but back it up with some facts or reasoning.
To say someone is over-rated makes little sense-he is rated no.3 and is in the last four. So the over-rated arguement falls down.
To say he has beaten no-one in getting to the Semi's is equally absurd. You can only beat the opponents you are drawn to play against in a tournament format. And to say Ferrero is a nobody is insulting to a former high ranking player.
Regardlessly, no-one looks back at who you beat in winning a major tournament, the most important thing is winning it.

Yes, there is over-hype but the player isn't directly responsible for that. I can only expect that bobjones and co would still be saying Murray is over-rated even if Murray won 100 Grand Slams.
Rather than writing such articles I would concentrate on bringing about positive aspects in one's own personal life and achieving something. So BobJones what are your achievements or successes?? Care to list them your personal life so we can critically dissect it??

Murray has no chance now. The curse of Gordon Brown will see to that. Yup our esteemed leader has wished him well, and his record of endorsing British success which in turn become sporting disasters is second to none.

I think we are all getting a little bit too carried away. He's done really well so far but I just think Federer will have too much for him. Federer attacks more and goes for more winners whilst Murray stands way behind the baseline, returning the ball and just waiting for unforced errors. Federer will punish him if he plays that way, which Federer has criticised him on before.

I just hope Murray attacks him more and his first serve is consistent and plays to his abilities.

Well... they've both gotta overcome their semi's first!

Those people who say Murray is overrated..What planet do you live on ? F.Y.I On Earth he is number 3.
Overhyped - ofcourse the Brits are astonished to have such a good player. Does British tennis deserve such a good player ? Not really Murray is a statistical analomy. So whats wrong with British tennis ? thats another debate smiley

He is way ahead in terms of where Henman and Rusedski where.

Maybe, Maybe not. Time will tell.

This isn't a Mystic Meg moment. At 22, Murray is the most successful of the three at the same stage of their own career's.

Look at their respective records at the same age.

Andy Murray is a brilliant tennis player - he has turned out to be the best player we have had in a long time (sorry Tim & Greg)so people want to get excited - why not? You really need to follow tennis to make some of the comments you have. Andy Murray is no3 in the world he has played against Federer before. He record is 6 out of 8 wins! If he gets to the final can he beat Federer - darn right he can! Will Federer get to the final? Let Haas play as he has been and he won't!:oD
