One word for that Murray match

CLINICAL

Served beautifully, returned a lot of balls and made Ferrero EARN his service holds. Obviously he produced a few early unforced errors, probably because it was a much drier day today.

Question 1: Who do you think you'd rather see Murray face?

Question 2: Who do you think he'll *actually* face?

My pick is Roddick in five sets, and I think he'd like Roddick too. He can read Roddick's serve as well as anyone.

Why breaks new ground? Henman was there before him. And Fred Perry. For a Scot perhaps, and for himself, since hitherto he has been a loser. Let's hope he gets a hiding in the semis, but I doubt it as he has had the first semi and the other went on much longer. Biased scheduling? You bet! Come on FED!

I know I shouldn't respond to all the WUM's on here, but I am sick and tired of hearing of all the Murray bashing going on. What is this based on?

If it's to do with him being Scottish then it's just petty and actually kind of rascist in a way, I too am scottish and have been a fervent supporter of Murray since 2005. Before that I supported Henman but I never had any issue with nationality.

And if you dont like him because of the old 'Murray doesn't like the English' angle then you need to look up the facts of what actually happenned in the interview. He was resonding light-heartedly to a joke made about Scotland not being in the World Cup in 2006 made by a reporter and Henman.

Perhaps you dont like his skulking on court demeanour? Yeah It's a shame he cant be like that laugh a minute Nadal or Federer or who else is the on court clowns, oh thats right, they don't exist! And if they do they are not ranked anywhere near the top 100.

Portodelpicasso obviously doesnt have a scooby, 'since hitherto he has been a loser'

Yeah cause that is how you claim 12 Titles including 3 masters series titles and an appearance at the US Open Final after a 2 day 5 set semi final against Rafa.

Whether you like Murray or not or even if you dont follow Tennis apart from Wimbledon, just have a look at the ATP website and you can't deny that Murray is the finest Tennis Player the UK has produced since Perry.

"Let's hope he gets a hiding in the semis, but I doubt it as he has had the first semi and the other went on much longer."

We've a psychic in our midst it seems - knows the semi scheduling already and how long the matches are going to last.

You're right jmaclennan you shouldn't respond because you actually sound worse than any of the "Murray Bashers'. Chill out and enjoy the moment... And don't go too far down that road of The English not liking the Scots etc, not only is it a waste of time but most of the time its the other way round. Most English (including myself) like to see any sports person or team from the home nations do well....

I have been guilty of bashing Murrays standard of play , but was most impressed watching his match against Ferrera.
I still think that Federer will win Wimbledon, but up against a very good player in Andy Murray.
Federer this week has played the two fastest servers on tour, and on grass. That is tough and yet he won convincingly both times.
That is why i pick Federer to win. Remember when Richard Krajcek bamboozled Sampras to ruin his Wimbledon record. Federer is the only player that would have lived with Krajcek that day.

Murray destroyed Ferrero and he'll destroy Roddick too. Roddick's play poses no danger to Murray. He'll out-return him and nearly match him on serve and win most rallies. Murray in 3.

Saying that as a non-brit.
