Great Signing

Wolverhampton Wanderers
comment on the article

Surman is IMO a fabulous signing, I have wanted this guy for a long time and whenever I have seen him play he has looked the part and I am glad we have landed him.

He is capable at LB and I have seen him play this position and he is highly competent, I see him as the creative midfielder he is and for me he will become an established regular pretty quickly and is certainly not going to be a bench warmer.

Strong rumours that Nolan is about to arrive...I am sure we will have the CB or CB's we are looking for pretty soon.

" fantastic signing and I don't care what we paid for either as I have said before a player is worth what the buying club is prepared to pay.

I would love to see Bodde at the Wolves but maybe it is a step too far now and he may not find a place in the team but who knows what twists and turns will happen during the next few weeks.

Seems a bargain price for an U21 international, but what goes around comes around. Fitz Hall.

I reckon thats a pretty good deal for that money. I like the fact that Wolves have quite a few English players so i hope they stay up.

Thank you Mick, for taking drew off our hands. Well over rated recent years. He probably was one the worst players in the side last season. The guy has no pace, just seems to jog around, He can't tackle or track players back, thats why he was a pants left back. On his day he's okay in central midfield, as a attacking midfielder, but even then, he isn't good enough for premiership. lower championship sides I reckon. So over all, fantastic bit of business for saints.

He was LEGIBLE but now he has declared himself as an England international in the U21's he is now illegible (so i understand)

I'm not sure if he could still play for the full South Africa team as you need to have earned so many caps to be illegible to any other country

Thanks matty.so the way it is he couldn't represent south africa at youth level but could do so at senior level?this could be an attractive option for him if he's not anywhere close to the england team...

He can play for South Africa but he wont. I believe he doesnt want to play for South Africa which is why he declared himself for England.

Whatever Saints fans think of this lad he will benefit greatly by being in a stable experienced set up, which has hardly been the case at Southampton for the last five years.

MM is looking forward and not simply at this coming season, Surman has a very bright future and at the price paid is a steal, a real bargain.

To give you an update. Surman never played in the premier league. If it wasn't for us getting relegated he would never have been given a chance. Also we have only been in REAL trouble this year. Before he played in the last three seasons of the championship seasons. I don't know why you say he'll benefit from playing with "experienced players." And your players haven't exactly been premiership experience.
