Live - Euro Under-21 Champ final

International
comment on the article

There are few rivalries in international sport to compare to Germany and England - and tonight, the old foes go head-to-head once more, this time at Under-21 level.

Stuart Pearce's side came through an epic semi-final against Sweden on Friday to reach this stage, but they have it all to do again with the mighty Germans standing in their way.

Malmo's brand spanking New Stadium is the venue in the south of Sweden, and kick-off is 1945 BST. If it lives up to expectations, it could be a cracker.

Germany had outstanding players in his ranks, Ozil, Khedira and Castro were pretty good.

England had Lee Cattermole and no plan.

why did Stuart Pearce get the job in the first place the as he has never done anything as a manager in fact the agresive maner he conducts himself shows through the players. As a reward he gets another new two year contract only in England can this happen

eeerrrmm, I thought he got us to the final, no mean achievement. If Cappello gets us to the final next year of the big one he will be lauded whether or not we win.
Pearce is learning himself, and developing the team/players for Capello's use. The objective at this level is to feed the full squad with players ready to drop into positions.
Of course he wants to win everything, thats no bad thing, but it isn't the most important issue for the U21's
