Wimbledon - day five

Wimbledon
comment on the article

Hello everyone,

Centre Court's roof (to use a football cliche) could pay back a chunk of its multi-million pound price-tag today, with showers forecast on day five. Roger Federer up first at 1300 BST, with Novak Djokovic v Mardy Fish finishing us off.

Court One delights include Karlovic v Tsonga and Haas v Cilic. Serena Williams will have to put up with Court Two.

Ok I know its not 'Wimbledons next top model', but is there any Female player in the world, who is more ugly to look at than Serena and Venus Williams? .. Was just wondering.

--------------------------------------------------

Look hard enough and you'll see there are lots, in fact Venus and Serena wouldn't even be in the top 10 ugliest players.

I like Boris' 'funky phase' with his composure when serving in a tight situation!

This Cilic-Haas game looks like being the game of the tournament so far, amazing tennis from both players!

Its shocking to see Del Potro go out! Guess its high time he raised his game to fit the class of the World's first 5

Is this the only tournament you watch?
Wimbledon isn't the be all and end all.
Take out this performance, and DelPot has reach Quarters twice and a Semi in the last 3 slams, won plenty of tournaments, and shown that he can trouble the big four.
At only 20, he's better than Murray at the same age.

Story of Cilic's life so far on Court One. He's gonna hit lots of winners, but also lots of UE's.

Shame Cilic and Haas weren't able to finish it tonight, the atmosphere had really built up over the five sets.

Has it been mentioned that dark conditions favor a younger player? I'm just 32, Haas is only 31, but I know I don't see as well as when I was 20. Nice work for him to hold the tie to play again tomorrow.

that's the first time the score in the top left of my screen has been the brightest thing for late night tennis. i'm impressed by the two fellas playing that.

was at the Cilic game and loved it. Mainly because me and three friends had queued to get in for 7 hours and just happened to stumble across someone selling court 1 tickets for a fiver each. The mexican wave certainly proved that we were an enthusiastic crowd! Too bad the game had to finish because of bad light though...!
