Moto GP

So we all knew it would happen, Simoncelli is arriving in Moto GP, and at the expense of either De Angelis or Elias.

Watching him in 250cc racing he is a hard charger and strong willed and not a taker of prisoners, But how do you think he will fair in Moto GP in team that dont seem to be up to speed at the moment?

I would like to see Rookies being able to get in which ever team they want but i know there is the rookie rule that they have to serve at Private team first.

Elgoog44 - there is no rule about serving a private team first.

Pedrosa and Dovi at Honda
Lorenzo at Yamaha

These guys have all come in straight off on Factory Rides. I think Hayden came straight into the Repsol Honda team as well...

Scummer1, Yes there is this rule. It is coming into effect from next year. Under the rules from before then Lorenzo would have had to have done a season at Tech 3 and Pedrosa at one of the Honda feeder teams.

I didn't know that rule had been brought in. And you are right Dovi was fantastic on a satellite bike last year! Sorry I rushed that response a bit didn't I?!!! You learn something new every day!

Of course the exception to that rule is the Suzuki team, who dont have a satelite team so anyone can ride for them winkeye

Hopefully Bautista can get a ride in GP's soon so they can continue there battles smiley

Ouch...offered a deal by Tech 3. I dont know where its going with James now, Tech 3 it appears are now trying to pull his pants down behind his back whilst Yamaha put Nakajima in his garage to attempt to get him up to speed for Assen. Whether JT knew Simoncelli had been offered his seat or not, it did him a damn sight of good because the practice time wasnt at all bad.

Anyway the actual deal with Gresini is bad, I dont particularly think removing either De Angelis or Elias will solve their problems, its that simple, if Dovi and Pedrosa arent going to do it then however much a risktaking wa*k*r S'celli is, it wont bump them magically up to the level of the Suzukis or Colin Edwards. Good for Simoncelli though, and the overall paddock because he is an accomplished fighter, I just want to see Colin mug him off at press conferences over his afro and then watch Simoncelli smile nervously back whilst thinking...'wtf'...

NO way - the guys a liability - did you just see the 250 race?

That is just one of many incidents over the years.

He needs to wind his neck in a bit and calm down.

Talking about rookies, young Bradley and Scott are looking a bit tasty, after only two or three seasons on the circuit. Danny Webb seems to be a bit crash happy at present, and perhaps his bike isn't as good as it might be - I don't know. But Smith seems quite a prospect. I'll be looking forward to seeing him in 250cc races in a year or two.
