An earlier post said that the Stoke owner was the 25th richest club owner in the league, which still makes him a relative pauper in the premiership.

Stokies are great triers but dreamers.

Curbsyoumug (U13246736)

we were 5 places above the relegation places, 11 points clear of it, saying we "survived relegation" would only be used if we finished 17th.

doh

now, because you finished 9th last season, only 3 places above us, you instantly see us a small club, whereas you, MASSIVE.

once again, doh

you assume because you finished higher than us, you must have much more money than us. manchester city, the richest club in the world, were behind you. we CAN afford ashton, we CAN afford to offer scholes 80k a week (although i wouldn't want him either way).

one more time, doh

That's great news - the more that losers place on bets on Bet 365, the more money Coates (and ultimately Stoke) make - good to see West Ham fans futhering the Potters' cause - cheers, easy!

I think the majority of West Ham fans don't want him to leave. They're showing the passion and annoyance that he's being linked with another club. I personally have no problem with Stoke. I'm around their fans constantly at work and out of work and they're all really friendly. It doesn't mean to say that I have to except the fact that Deano is going. I don't want him to!

You stoke fans are getting abit too cocky.

I want Stoke too stay up, your footballs better then most in the premiership and you turned from being in relegation zone to finishing in mid table.

BUT, the second season is ALWAYS harder then the first. I dont know anything about your finances so i cannot comment on that, but if you look at the history of the premier league you will see that it is very hard too break into the top 10 and stay there.
Luckily, West Ham have done so, 10th then 9th, but other then us i think Fulham are the only recentish promoted team too be in top 10, but staying there is a different story........

And i like Stoke, and i agree with the other Hammers fan, we are the bigger club, as im sure most of your honest supporters will agree. We have better history (though most clubs havent won much) and established premier league team. You just have too look at the like of Moore, Both Lampards, Cole, Carrick, Ferdinand etc too see that we produce some of the best English talent.

If you guys get Ashton then he will be a good buy, if hes fit. For about 4 years we have been fed up with all his injuries.

Finally, wish you luck for next season, and please dont sign Owen, i personally think he will be a pathetic signing for ANY premier league team.

we're not being cocky, us stoke fans would be delighted if we finish 17th this season. we know how difficult next season is going to be, and how much harder than this season its going to be.

alan 1992, Pathetic for ANY EPL club ?? So what would you say if those at West Ham were considering an approach ? Whilst most unlikely that he would even contemplate moving to London, never mind the 'Pits' Be careful what you don't wish for.

Ashton has a great fottballing brain, but he carries too much weight for his ankles to bear. He must stop eating pizza, go on a health regimen, shed pounds and stop the injuries. His rate of scoring per game is good. The number of games he's played is pitiful.
