federer will win wimbledon

comment on the article

it pains me to say it, but i think the federer is nailed on, i dont think he need to break sweat to win iether

the only one i can see troubling him is del potro

it looks like federers lucky streak will continue, i think he will take full advantage of another weak draw

I suppose if you are told you are brilliant and read about it as often as Federer does for the last 5 years or so you start to believe in all the hype.

I watched Sue tee him up on Wimbledon today with some pretty sycophantic questioning and it was difficult for him to say anything negative about himself or his achievements.

For the record, he gave Nadal a lot of credit for winning in Australia in Jan and Wimbledon last year and feels that Nadal didn't get the credit from the press he deserved which I though was a pretty fair assesment.

i think he will be beat sampras record of seven wins at wimbledon not only his grand slam record, it's boring again on the men's side, federer rules again, and again for a long time he maybe wins 20 grand slam tournaments he is only 27 yet

"its easy to give credit months after the event but did u see his comments after the match? gave nadl no credit"

or:

"its easy to give murray credit after the uso semis 2008 but did u see nadal's comments months after? gave murray no credit"

It depends which flavour of lip service you prefer, I guess.....

I dont think Federer is nailed on to win at all.
I used to marvel at his shots etc. but I find I'm doing that more with other players now. He's just as likely to shank one than hit a beautiful shot and I do agree the commentators are very sycophantic about him.
As for Murray being dour and charmless...only the once a year fan could say that.
I used to be one of Andy's biggest critics (his playing) and really got annoyed at the hype surrounding him especially, but I don't think any sportsman has impressed me as much with his transformation and attitude and he's always honest in post match interviews and seems to me very charming and of good humour.
I dont watch Sport to see competitors smile I go to watch a competition!!!.
Criticise for for when he plays too passive but not for some other reason!
Del Potro should have had Fed in 3 at Roland Garros and looked the most impressive in the first round so I don't agree Fed is the clear favourite.

A long way to go yet for all of them, so no predictions from me!!
