Lewis Montrose signs for Wycombe

League Two Chesterfield
comment on the article

Evening all

I'm sure you're all aware by now that former Chesterfield loanee Lewis Montrose has signed for League 1 outfit Wycombe Wanderers after he rejected the chance to sign for the Spireites on a permanent basis. Lewis Montrose is a very capable midfielder and I must admit I thought he would sign at Saltergate but the lure of League 1 football looks to have done the trick. What is the reaction from the Spirities fans after this news? Are we unhappy, not to bothered, or feeling optimistic that John Sheridan will find a more then adequate replacement for the forthcoming season?

Cheers

Callum

More sign of the lack of loyalty players today have, and how agents are ruining the game. On the CFC site it says how a new agent got him the wycombe deal.

Whilst we're here as well we might as well discuss the fact that Sean Gregan has gone back to Oldham after being released from his contract. I must admit i'm once again surprised as I seriously thought Gregan would sign for Chesterfield. Also, Mark Croseley....... player or coach? Which would you prefer? I think its obvious he will be doing both but which would you prefer?

Cheers

i dnt blame lewis leaving really. Its not just the money is the chance of higher league football at wycombe and the chance to join up with peter taylor.
its a shame because hes a great player but we have to move on and find somebody else.

No announcement yet fella, its hard for me to get any information at the moment as i haven't met anyone at Saltergate yet so people are very reluctant to give me information at the moment. I'm due to meet John Sheridan, the chairman and the new owner within the next 2 weeks so things should be a bit easier when people at the club know who I am then.

Sorry fella

Cheers

Ha ha, see its strange, i've not long spoken to a few of the lads up at BBC Sheffield and they've said its been a rumor that's been a round for a while now but they were told there is nothing in it. Where as elsewhere i'm hearing that he will sign before the end of the week from other news papers and so on. If he does sign either way it'll be a good signing.

If you want to know any gen on the Spireites, pop into the Spar shop on Sheffield Road, Whittington Moor.

Owner, John Croot, is the club's Community Officer and usually knows what's happening. He'll sell you some stamps while you're there!
