Wimbledon - day three

comment on the article

Hello there,
The sun is belting down on Centre Court in front of me and we've got Sharapova, Federer and Cilic on here from 1300 BST, while Djokovic, Serena and Haas are on Court One.

Unfortunately, the Brits in action will be teaming up for doubles after yesterday's disastrous effort - Baltacha and Murray aside.

Let me know who else you're looking out for today, I think Court Three with Hantuchova, Verdasco and Tsonga is the place to be.

Someone please tell Macca on BBC2 that the match on court 1 should definitely not go to a tie break if it could - we have a long final set for good reasons, and the four Brits out there are providing us with a fantastic and entertaining match (now 100mins into the 3rd set) whilst you are all presenting highlights that clearly shouldn't be on yet. I think there's some kind of game still on Centre too. Still, mustn't grumble. CB}

Federer was very strong today, but the best game has to be Querrey and Cilic

Argentina1s Dulko shocks former world no1,Maria Goes Home.
I am fully disappointed of Maria!s actions of this wibeledon match.
Being a great player in all courts, here she had failed miserably.
Let us hope Dulko will win other matches.
All these matches are lovely,watchable.

It is indeed sad that Marias career may have ended as top player at such a young age.
She trained so hard and her father sacrificed so much to attain the high standard.
When she won Wimbledon i think she was 17 not certain , but did so by beating Serena Williams at top of her game quite easily.
My own opinion was that she was from then on distracted by advertising etc and lost some focus , but the shoulder injury , probably rotator cuff has affected her serve and some of her power and speed etc.
That shoulder injury was severe and she was playing too soon after surgery and too long prior to having it.
I have grave doubts she will ever reagain her best form.
This has happened to several outstanding young players in the past.
