"Birmingham have not given up in their pursuit of defender Roger Johnson, despite Cardiff refusing to lower their 5m valuation of the player." - why should we?

I thought the Riddler had to sell just to keep your stagnant club afloat?

Stagnant?

I think that is apposite for your little club which is on the precipice of implosion.

Nin,

Come on mate, you know you can't be using big words like that for our neighbourly friends! Their team may play at the 'Library' but there certainly aren't any books there (apart from colouring books)

Watch SSN at 1pm and then claim that we are on the precipice of implosion.

I expect after you've sold your prized asset Johnson you'll be shopping in the lower leagues for replacements, when we will be bringing in new and exciting continental players from all over Europe.

Hardly a club on the precipice of implosion?

I was watching the Premiership Years over the weekend. I had to take a double take and rewind it several times.

A present City player scored 2 goals in one league match for Leeds v Chelsea. Not one, but TWO.

He certainly has not done that for City - he couldn't even manage one last season. In fact he was sent off more times than he scored!

So when is Jones going to unveil his new central midfield line up?

Well we have signed McCormack, McNaughton, Gyepes and Johnson from arguably poorer leagues and look how well they have gone on to do.

We have also taken players like Gabbidon, Chopra and Jerome from their non playing days at bigger teams and made them into good players.

So looking in the lower leagues is not something to laugh at. Where do you think Wolves got Knightly, or Leeds got Beckford?

Plus we have the advantage of having a decent academy, with players such as Gunter, Earnshaw, Collins, Ramsey, Ledley, Darcy Blake and Adam Matthews.

So if we don't spend alot of money in the summer, dont go thinking Cardiff will be easy targets this season.

After all, we spent 450,000 on 2 strikers last season and the scored just under 50 goals between them.<nahnah>

Blues fan in peace!!!

5million for Johnson! He's a good championship player but good championship players struggle to be average premiership players! 5million is one heck of a punt on a player that may or may not cut it in the premiership!

IMHO there's probably better out there for 5million and if thats the price tag then Blues should walk away.

Okay hem852. Kindly walk away!

Remember that the valuation is what the player is worth to us as much as what he may be worth to you.

"It'll always be a blow when you lose your best players," said Ridsdale.

"But there'll be no point having good players here who are moaning."

PR shut up. Rog wouldnt moan if he had to stay he would just get on with it!
