I reckon this will be Man City's main aim this year, they have no Europe to worry about, they aren't aiming to win the league this year, so they will try and win one of the 2 cups and given that most of the top teams play 2nd squads for this cup it would be the easier to try for.

Gone are the days when top clubs fielded a team full of kids and had no interest in the League cup. The Carling cup has been dominated by one of the big three (you can't count Arsenal as a title winning team any more)for a few years now so it's difficult to look past United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

I'd love to see a team outside of the Premiership win it. I'd like to think that Leeds United could get far this year (I'm a Leeds fan, I kinda have to say it :P lol), but I'd be very surprised if they won it.

I wouldn't put it past one of the Championship clubs like Sheffield United or Cardiff to surprise everyone.

Cardiff City could win it.

As a Shrewsbury fan I would be delighted to get to the Third Round but would be surprised if we beat Ipswich on Tuesday in the First Round.

Big_JF, I see we've been put into the same section of the JPT as Leeds United but have got a bye to the Second Round - fancy coming to The Prostar winkeye
