Cesc Pledges His Allegiance... Again

Premier League Arsenal
comment on the article

Of course I see my future at Arsenal. I have a very long contract with the club," Fabregas said in an interview with Arsenal TV Online, which was conducted before Thursday's announcement about Ronaldo.

"I would have never signed that if I did not think I was capable of making it (to the end of the contract).
Trophy ambition

"The boss knows that I really want to stay here.

"What you cannot stop is what people say about you. The press can write or say whatever they want.

"Here, I do not get involved at all. Since I am 18, they have been saying that - but I am still here."

Arsenal have endured a difficult couple of seasons but Fabregas is confident of challenging for silverware on several fronts in 2009/10.

He added: "I just say what I feel - and what I feel is that I hope I can be at Arsenal for many years and lift trophies which they have never lifted before, like the Champions League, to lift the Premier League, FA Cups.

"I am really looking forward to it because I am sure the future is bright here."

Let's stop questioning his commitment and get behind our players. Seems like some would be happier if our best players left.

One of your fellow goons asked me a question and I answered it.

Hence my answer above.....

"Not very bright" .....care to expand?

I came back to this forum to see if you had got rid this substance clinging to you. Ther can be no doubt that by 'fellow goon' he means me. Now, looking at my user name, is there anyone with the slightest knowledge of football who would think I was an Arsenal fan?

Note, I haven't had cheap, mindless digs at Arsenal - hopefully I've at least given credit where it is due.

Does anyone know of any way of barring people like LaneOfPain? Although, in the rivalry between Arsenal and Spurs (such as it is these days) this Spurs supporter is doing a fantastic job for Arsenal. Other Spurs fans must be groaning if they see his posts...

I would suggest he go away and play with his friends, but that would be like telling the Swiss to join their navy. So, he will have to play with himself.

WHOEVER SAYS FABREGAS IS OVER RATED IS WRONG.

HE MAY NOT SCORE MORE GOALS THAN GERRARD AND LAMPARD, BUT HE CREATES FAR MORE GOALS THAN THEY DO. THIS MEANS AT THE AGE OF 22 HE IS ALREADY A BETTER PLAYMAKER THEN BOTH OF THEM SINCE HE CREATES MORE THAN THEM. HE IS THE JOINT ASSIST LEADER EVEN THOUGH HE MISSED 4 MONTH THIS SEASON BECAUSE OF INJURY.

DURING EURO 2008, FABREGAS STARTED ONLY 2 OUT OF THE 6 GAMES PLAYED AND HE MADE 4 SUBSTITUTE APPEARECES, AND DURING HIS LIMITED TIME OF PLAY HE IMPRESSED AND WAS INCLUDED IN UEFAs TEAM OF THE TOURNAMENT.

FABREGAS IS ALSO A MATCH WINNER AND HAS SCORED AGAINS ALL THE TOP TEAMS SO EARLY IN HIS CAREER.
.scored vs liverpool (may 2005, and october 2007)
.scored vs manchester united (october 2007)
.scored vs chelsea (august 2005)
.scored v ac milan (champions league)
.scored v juventus (CL)

Re. Arshavin Is A Russian Magician

No need to shout!

Of course Fabregas is a great player. Interesting about assists - actually in the League I think Van Persie is top, with Fabregas sharing second place with Lampard, Gerrard, and... Berbatov.

I'll bet not many saw that coming.

If arsenal don't win anything next season, then Cesc will surely leave.

IM hoping that we will buy a couple more guys we really really need a dominant ball winner...

I would have gone for Senna from Villareal although Wengers policy on 30+'s is always the same...

Senna wudda fitted in very well...And given the likes of Ramsey/Song/Wiltshire 2 + Years of analysing and showing themm the game.

We are also in need of someone who can hold up the ball in the DB10 form...

RVP was supposed to be that role but because adeybayor drifts wide he thinks he is Henry (no where near)...THe pace and power of Henry set up bergkamp for those little passes.....

I can see the shape coming...Cesc/Arshavin(Pires) Walcott(Overmars)RVP(Bergkamp)...We just lack that explosive guy to take defenders AWAY to open gaps.

We are written off every year but im sure there are many teams that wud like 4th place/CL semi/Fa cup semi...

BUT as stated this MUST improve soon or yes i can see Fabregas leaving in 2 years

That's the good thing about Eduardo coming back to fitness, he plays the "fox in the box" role that Bergkamp used to play (and Henry when he was younger). I know we haven't seen much of it yet because of his injuries, but the games he played earlier this year, he played that role perfectly and really tormented defenders. There's also his finish... the goal against Burnley in the FA Cup says it all.

I'm so sick of Cesc and the rubbish he comes out with on a weekly basis these days.

Ok, we've brought this on ourselves a bit though by signing too many foreign players and I think Cesc's comments on the lack of camaraderie in the Arsenal dressing room fairly reflect that.

Also, if we could actually unearth some English talent I think they'd be happy enough with the already ridiculous footballers' wages to avoid flirting with Spanish clubs every month. We don't get this from Theo.

Cesc = flirt/retract, flirt/retract etc, nearly every week, ad nauseum, and I agree that these pledges of loyalty are basically worthless anyway. Just more hot air.

Maybe we should save ourselves the headache, get a proper transfer fee for him and do some real re-building.

Or just get him to shut up.

The 'impotence' comment was insulting to the club. Pointless too.

Honestly we are still not strong to compete in next season. So I am going to play devil's advocate. We wont win anything next season. Then Fabregas will leave and Arsene Wenger will resign at the end of the season. Arsene Wenger has not learnt anything from the previous seasons
