Tevez on the brink of United departure
442 Staff - Today, 16:46

Sir Alex Ferguson appears to have failed in an attempt to persuade Carlos Tevez to stay at Manchester United. It is believed that Ferguson telephoned the Argentine striker directly to ask him to stay but it appears his plea has fallen on deaf ears.

Tevez was unimpressed with the Scottish manager's efforts. A source close to him said: "You treat someone badly for a whole year, you don't make it up with a telephone call, right?"

Disappointed that he was overlooked for the majority of United's high-profile games last season Tevez is considering his options with local rivals Manchester City "only one of a few options". The fact that Ferguson is only now making Tevez feel wanted, at the point where he may leave the club, is a further grievance for the Argentine.

According to his advisors, Tevez "will start talking with different clubs" later adding "It should take two to three weeks for Carlos's future to be finally decided."

When asked about the possibility of a move to City the source replied: "It's an option. But no one option is more serious than another – City, Chelsea, Liverpool: they're all options."

Wherever Tevez ends up it is likely that he won't be going too far, as the Premier League is the "first choice" for the Argentine.

Next thing, Vidic and Evra will be getting twitchy feet.

Oh and by the way, you won't be signing Benzema or Ribery either. Benzema will be staying at Lyon for another season and Ribery is on his way to Real.

Deep Deep financial crisis at Old Trafford!!!

When the yanks pay off "THIS YEARS" loan repayments they will be left with around 30m from the Ronaldo sale.

What do they do next year to repay this massive loan with sponsorship, T.V rights, etc going south.

United heading same way as Leeds, Southampton, Newcastle and Liverpool.

Ronaldo has shown us all what a selfish, egoistical and money hungry player he was during this transfer.

He never did it for the team, just to boost his profile.

Torres' right peg has been right all along.

£80 million! £80 million!

That's 4 x Torres.

Well done Utd for getting that much out of Real. It was inevitable he was going and good luck to him. We'll have lost one world class player but can buy 2/3 more.

No-one is bigger than Utd....

£56m, £80m...Madrid must be getting on for billions of pounds of debt what with all the Galacticos before as well. Madrid could have signed about 4 Frank Ribery's for that price, and that's got to be a better deal surely.

biggrin How shall I put this? Ronaldo and Ribery differ... in appearance.

Ronaldo has shown us all what a selfish, ego-filled and money hungry player he was during this transfer.

He never did it for the team, just to boost his profile, get more publicity, more women and more cash in his pocket.

Torres' right peg has been right all along, and now finally United fans can see that!

Come on media, whip up a frenzy. (you know, recession going on, absurd amount of money, loyalty in football, how you play to the populous, etc.. go on as Mrs. Doyle would say)

Surely wasn't that long ago when a made up fee turned the Manchester Blue Satans into one of the most dispised teams in the world and transforming the now Real Madrid bound Kaka into the saviour of football..

Football is dead.
RIP football.
Final nail in the coffin.

LOL. I think it should be Tevez convincing United why we should keep him.
