Browse: Horse racing That Was Freak Like Preformance From STSOne of the best Derbys in recent Memory and we have a winner that totally was in a different League. I dont think a horse has ever cruised around Epsom which such ease despite being a big bull of a horse in many a year. Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

captainchristy2 (U11044784) posted Jun 6, 2009 He means Alamshar..a rare slip up for the king of the racing quiz but an understandable one. There is always a tendency to overreact when you see performances like that, but it wasn't so much the quality of what he beat but the style in which he did it. He travelled easy throughout and after he hit the front, MK gave him two light cracks with the whip to establish his lead and then rode him out with hands and heels. If you look at the replay he was pricking his ears in the last 50 yards. Had Kinane driven him hard, he could probably have won by 5 lengths . Then in the winners enclosure he looked as if he'd barely broken sweat posted Jun 6, 2009 This horse will turn out to be much better than Alamshar, can't see any other 3 year old getting near him and i also think the older horses will seriously struggle with him.

agricfowl (U10946844) posted Jun 6, 2009 I have only just watched the highlights of the race (after falling asleep just before the off). It was a very good performance and it takes a very good horse to win both classics. I will like to see him against the older horses first and against RVW over a truly run 12f race again. Bring on the King George.

ArkleSupreme (U9369175) posted Jun 6, 2009 No Paulchess....the way that both New Approach and Sea The Stars won their Derby's were very impressive for different reasons and there is no reason why todays winner won't go on to further Group 1 success just as last years did, even though he suffered an injury, before doing so !!

mnixon10 (U9322856) posted Jun 8, 2009 He certainly looks the part, but we will have to see what he does from here on in, I remember people touting Motivator & Authorised as wonder horses until their bubble burst, he has done everything asked of him to date, so you cant fault him up to now though!
