Winning the french for Federer is a formaility now.

If in Wimbledon, Nadal loses early, say 3rd or 4th round and Federer regainng his Wimbledon title. Federercould become #1 again.

I know its easier said than done. But thats what victory or a defeat can make.

If Rafa's knees don't improve soon then number 1 could v well be Feds. As a Rafa fan I no longer care about world rankings as long as Rafa takes it easy so he can keep playing tennis for years to come.

I think Fed will get thru. Del Potro did v well. But the Fed/Sod match should be interesting if Sod can keep it up.

Looks like Soderberg to win, with most people here shoeing Federer in!

Federer is past his best. If he is in the final is because he played 5 sets to haas and today because he played against a weak del potro who gave his chances up in the 4 and 5 sets. Anways even if federer wins at RG it wont be as great because he hasnīt beaten RAFAEL NADAL in paris just like NADAL has done with federer on a lot of occasions.

The ATP point system is so unfair because NADAL has won almost all the tournaments of the year heīs been playing and that also includes THE AUS Open. Have you forgotten that? Nadal is the current AUS open champion . Federer can win at RG and at Wimbledon and still not be the deserving number one .

I am a die hard federer fan and yet i still get the feeling that soderling is in better form than fed. It all depends on the first set and it is certainly not a formality

Unless soderling buckles under the pressure of being in his first grand slam final, he has got the game and the form to beat Federer in the final. Any guy who beats Nadal in clay farily comprehensively when Nadal did not play a bad game, has to be respected.

"I'd be happy for Roger to win RG - but remarks like this almost make me want him to lose."

quietvoice,

I know the feeling, but I've learnt not to confuse the comments of Fed/Rafa/Nole/whoever fans with comments from the men themselves. Fed will no doubt be reserving a healthy dose of respect for the Sodmeister... of all people, he knows what a tall order it is to take Nadal out on clay :)

What rubbish - a formality I think not. Ignoring reputations, Soderling has played the better tennis this last week. I really hope Federer takes it, but won't be putting any money on it at all. Had Gonzalez have held on and served out that fifth set, I would have put odds on Federer, but Soderling just has the look of the ultimate killjoy about him here.

If currnt form has anything to go by, Soderling will be tough for federer. Gonza's serve kept him in that semi, otherwise it could have been 3 straight to soderling. It may go to 5.

Just a quick mention- MENS TENNIS IS SO MUCH MORE INTERSTING AND ENTERTAINING THANS WOMEN'S TENNIS AT THE MOMENT! Kuzetsova v Safina doesn't really float my boat. Bring on Federer soderling!

If federer wins Tomoro it is fair to say in my opinion he is the single greatest male tennis player of all time. His record of slams, finals and time spent at the top of the ranking is simply put beyong belief. Federer is 27 and will reach at least 4 more slam finals after rolland garros. However if Soderling manages to pull off this result it will be one of the greatest achievemens i have ever seen in tennis. To beat Nadal and Federer on your way to winning your first Grand Slam. For me will be on of the best single achievements in tennis.
Federer v Soderling.
Can't wait.
COME ON THE FED!!!!!!!

mate are you nuts?! This guy soderling is serving at 200+ and returning at at an even greater speed! This tournament is far from over.
Perhaps federer is favourite on paper, but we all know that matches are not won on paper.
This has the makings of a classic final it really does.
