Who will win the World Cup- Australia!

Twenty20 Australia
comment on the article

These are the reasons why the Aussies could well win the Twenty20 World Cup 2009:

* Not only do they have brilliant bowlers (Nathan Bracken, Brett Lee and Ben Hilfenhaus) but they have explosive batsmen (David Warner, Mike Hussey and Brad Haddin).

* If one of Shane Watson or Andrew Symonds shine with either the bat or the ball then other players won't need to perform.

* They have an experienced captain in Ricky Ponting who can raise the side when they are down.

* Along with their captain, the likes of Brett Lee, Andrew Symonds, Mike Hussey, David Hussey and Michael Clarke are familiar with English conditions.

Surely, Australia are in with a brilliant chance of winning, and they are some of the reasons why they will be so hard to beat.
Next up I will be previewing England's chances of winning arguably Twenty20's most prestigious competition.

Ha Ha! that's fine, but going by current form, wouldn't the aussies jus love to have a certain Matthew Hayden in their midst!;-)

No mention of Mitchell Johnson in either the brilliant bowlers or explosive batmen sections? Could be brilliant with the new ball in English conditions, and can blast a potentially gamechanging 20-30 at 8. Australia's lack of a frontline spinner can be compensated for by the part-timers in this format of the game.
Are you going to do one of these for every team? I look forward to the Netherlands'.

johnson is so overrated with the bat. a couple of good innings in SA and suddenly he's this batting superstar.

australia wont win the 20/20 WC. they might have a chance if hayden and gilchrist and warne come out of retirement

Yes the Aussies have some very good players but so do other teams. Their weakness against spin which was recently exposed against Pakistan will be their undoing.

Stanley...Eng. looked for dicey today against spin...v...Scotland...lol.

Snoppy...Johnson isn't over rated with the bat...I'm certain you didn't see his 99 NO and century in test conditions in SA. As well as numerous other good knocks.

You just don't score like that as a fluke. Get over it. Accept the guy can bat.

Although, as an Aussie, I will be surprised if we do win...our medium paced bowlers will serve up too many boundaries in the middle overs I think...and the lack of a specialist spinner will be missed.

That said...Johnson, Lee, Bracken could tear the opposition apart so much that this weakness may well be compensated for.

Good luck to all. I hope it's a great competition whoever wins.

(I actually hope NZ wins, just to stuff it up everyone. lol).
