AdmiralKhirk (U9225261) posted May 24, 2009 the comments from bbc are so ridiculous...i was at today's game with my 8 year old daughter and let me say that seeing the game through her eyes is just as valid as dem badmen. so this is what she mentioned to me during the game...Dad why are England people booing? Dad! its Dwayne Bravo!...Dad, who's that? (referring to err...whatsisname...err...club cricketer who won the OBE for bringing on drinks for a specialist reserve fielder...err...Collingwood!(taste 0f your own medicine))..Dad why are England people booing again?...Dad can we afford to get me a Windies shirt?...wow! that was brilliant (jonnie's fielding)...and the list of favourable comments about Windies and question marks about England ability to be good hosts went on and on. so, Henglandbadmen, learn this lesson...even now when we are down we are winning over fans becoz we are still entertaining and kids "wanna be like dwayne bravo". conclusion: we'll take care of our own bizniz thanQ very much. and quite simply all our problems would be solved if we replaced 4 of the worst players with 4 really good players....impossible? no...there are at least 2 stars who will soon come to the front...a certain trini opener and a certain mini-bravo (little jonnie?)...bbc just got too used to saying unpleasant things. u'd never find Tony Cozier talking like that in the caribbean press,

ScarletSting (U13746054) posted May 24, 2009 It could have been an exciting match if Gayle had played a slightly more considered innings and thumped a century. But he didn't. And it was boring.

SeaMerlin (U13702351) posted May 24, 2009 England were missing KP and Freddie today. Anyone notice that? But don't think for moment that this means Australia are in trouble; Australia have NEVER batted (or fielded or bowled) the way the Windies have this year.

Toe2Toe (U6288427) posted May 25, 2009 The WI are due here again next year. Will they be better next year? I hope so as the paying public deserves a better show from them. They are capable of a much higher standard instead of going through the motions.

sweccy (U6386926) posted May 25, 2009 Gayle will not be captain beyond this series, but I don't think it's just him. With the exception of Darren Sammy who works his bol***ks off from ball one, they just don't look like they want to be here. How that guy isn't first on the team sheet for any game is beyond me. As for reading anything from this series into the Ashes,... well it's like Liverpool playing Altrincham in a pre-season friendly.... meaningless. As for the comments of AdmiralKhirk (above), I'm afraid you're dead right, but as long as we have the public school network running the game, in the commentary box and still making up more than 50% of the team, what do you expect?

RobM1974 (U6612027) posted May 25, 2009 For whatever reason, West Indies didn't want to be here for the test series. That could be IPL, general malaise within the Windies for the longer game - but their hearts clearly weren't in it and they were bascially held to rnasom. The state of the game in the Windies seems to be such that they had to pick players that didn't want to be here as opposed to picking lower quality players that did want to be here.
