Higgins vs Murphy

World Championship
comment on the article

This is it. The last day of the World Championship. Boy I'm going to miss it. No time for sentiment though.

It's the final and Higgins is leading Murphy 11-5. Can there be any more shocks, surprises, mad comebacks? If the Murph recovers this six-frame deficit to lift the trophy later tonight it could be the greatest comeback in a Crucible final ever. Can he?

Stranger things have happened at sea. Mmmmmmm snooker on a boat wouldn't quite work would it? Enough of my words. I want to read yours. Predictions, mad snooker stories, snooker dreams. Anything.

Talk to me. I need your support. Let's do this together.

Higgins for the win. Ronnie who? You are looking at the best in snooker at the moment.

What a very nice thing that Murphy said about Higgins. Very gracious in defeat. That blows all those peoples theories of Murphy being smug and arrogant out of the water.

What's he going to say? "John had a very lucky 18 frames and I totally deserved to win and I am the best player to have ever lived."

Of course he's going to be modest and gracious in defeat, everyone is, but that doesn't make their character.

Well done John Higgins. Snooker lives on. Who said it was dying? Good night.

I believe it was ROS that said that, i also believe higgins just matched him world championship wise, game on? or will ROS do us all a favor and quit like hes said he would over and over?

It was also Ronnie that said that on their top form, the winner would be him or Higgins.
So the Rocket was absolutely right yet again.

Well played Higgins, a worthy winner. He's a tremendous player.

It was also Ronnie that said that on their top form, the winner would be him or Higgins.

He said he and ronnie where the only players capable of winning it, he wasn't capable of passing the second round, and after which lots of players put on amazing shows and nearly everyone of them had a good chance to win or atleast be in the final if it wasn't for murphy and higgins, selby, allen, robertson, hendry - all could have been finalists with there shows.

I may be getting old but didn't Steve and Denis battle it out in 1985 - that's only 24 years ago! Perhaps your son is not as old as you think! Agree that was the best final ever though - but well done John Higgins! Well deserved winner.

Good on John for winning again. I think Selby & Robertson had a taste of what they can achieve in the future & will be dominant forces.
