Evans looked pretty strong but just lacked that extra gear at the top to beat the fast guys like Rebellin.Disappointing from Valverde, was in a great position but couldn't stay with it when the road kicked up.Lelay looks like he could do something in the future, pretty good for a guy who was riding for the Bretagne-Lux team this time last year.By the way, cyclingnews has Cooke in 6th instead of Blaak. Hare was 18th 0.48 back and Armistead 22nd 1.05 back.

Maybe I know about this cycling lark than I thought. I had Andy Schleck to win the LBL, and Rebellin to win Amstel so getting the right riders for the wrong races :-)
If Andy wins on Sunday then we'll dub you a bona fide expert :)
With my current record a wise gambler would put money on scarponi as he was my bet for the Fleche!
Amazing Rebellin! I thought he'd retired aeons ago... Well done that man!
I don't think Rebellin is ever going to retire. He's going to be riding with a cane in his back pocket in 40 years time.

I thought Nicole came 6th ?
Yeah, that's the top 10 they gave during the race, but apparently it was Nicole Cooke who came in sixth.

What a supremely crazy race - I love it (have seen the TV coverage a few times in recent years).Rebellin just seems to understand the timing of when to attack on the final climb. Evans was the same as last year - went too early and tried to churn away from the pack but just isn't explosive enough to do it on such an absurdly steep climb
