What are the best holes you have played

For me 3 stand out .

1. The Tenth at the Belfry - just for the sheer excitment factor of trying to get on the green in one

2. The Tenth at my Club - Leighton Buzzard Golf Club - A downhill par 3 167 yards surrounded by trees with a vicious slopping green , was vated one of the Top 100 holes in Britian by a Golf Journo years back. Seen people hit with a wedge or a 8 iron but have also seen some people punch a 5 iron onto it below the trees , very challenging.

3. The 13th at Aphrodite Hills in Paphos Cyprus - Par 3 - 137 Yards - Stunning Views of the ocean , with a valley around a couple hundred feet deep in between the tee and the green .

What about everyone els e?

Seems like a lot of people have played Mentmore!

Yeah, Straeh, sounds like the 10th, which is long, with a dogleg left at about 190 yards, with trees down both sides of the fairway. Either you lay up and leave yourself a long (~200yard) approach or you try to be 'imaginative' with the driver! We've got two courses, both very nice. Only real problem with the club is that we've been waiting over a year for a new website.

I played the Three Locks and wasn't overly impressed. Admittedly I was playing probably the worst golf I did all last season, but the course just didn't seem anything special at all.

For me the 3 are:

1)15th at Royal Lytham is a wonderful hole, although a brute! par here and you are very very happy. The whole back 9 is cracking (biased member!)

2) Number two would be any hole at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire, but the 6th closely followed by the 9th. Wonderful course.

3) Finally 16th at Southport and Ainsdale is a cracking hole with a raised mound embedded with railway sleepers that you hit over.

Very hard to pick three though. Is certainly making me want a round of golf!

In the last year I'd say 16th,17th and 18th at Moffat golf club.
None are particularly spectacular, but I finished birdie, birdie, eagle to tie for second in our society end of season championship.
Actually the last is pretty nice, a reachable par 4 with big drop from tee to green and great views all around.

Sly: the other reason i remeber it so well was because my friend who was a member died laterthat year in car crash, leaving behind a 3 month old daughter - and about 2 months before he was to get married to her mother.

He also played football for Tring.
