The season that looked more promissing has started crumbling. "A bird in hand is worth two in the bush" so goes the saying. Of all remaining trophies this was the biggest easiest to win. Arsenal can afford to rest its key players in the two premiership games before the champions league encounter because win or lose they have almost secured the 4th slot. A fit Ganaz frontline can easily score two goals at Old Traford which will be a toll order for our tired frontline to cancel. Liverpool dont look like dropping any points in any of the their remaining games. But the same cant be said of ManU which have ManCity, Spurs and Arsenal waiting. It is sad that after all the hype we created we have to contend with the Carlington trophy! Red card to SAF.

finally another manager managed to get the ref to give a decision against united. ferguson has put the ref under pressure to give united the decisions so many times that he really deserved this one against his team

demenaing gesture made to who???? to Big Sam? to the Blackburn crowd. He can't go on the pitch to talk to them. The only way is using his HAND to tell his players to relax becuase...just like manchester united has important games coming up they have to rest players ( NOT DISRESPECTNG THE OPPOSITE TEAM HERE) liverpool has important games coming up as WELL.

Personally you think it was risrespectful. But personally i think the biggest disrespect is to leave out important players against the opposing team sending a message that "YOU are a small team and my second class team can beat you!!!"
---------------------------------------------
ok believe rafas excuse that his gesture wasnt some smug 'game over' thing if you want i dont buy it. secondly, the team that was out yesterday out played everton over the 120 minutes, dominated possesion and if not for some slack finishing or (the stonewall penalty) shouldve won by 1 or 2. and thirdly, youd be a fool to think it was smug or arrogant of ferguson putting out that team to laugh in evertons faces the way rafa did to blackburn. that team was pitched becasue running 120 minutes up and down a big gras sponge (which btw is shocking for a stadium that cost what, about a billion quid?) can suck the life out of players you rely on to win you an EPL and CL. i think the same team wouldve been out regardless if it was arsenal, liverpool everton or chelsea.

alex ferguson sholdnt blame the pitch, everton had to play on the same pitch so it wasnt all against man u.

i never thought rio ferdinand was a penalty taker?

I can't beleive alex ferguson calls other people arrogant. playing a side like he did and thinking they'd easily beat everton after saying they were such a big club (which they are). Im glad they wont get the quintuple and I hope they end up with only the carling cup!

"Everton won a penalty shoot-out at Wembley to wreck Manchester United's hopes of a historic haul of five trophies and seal an FA Cup final date with Chelsea."

5 TROPHIES!!!

Community shield,Club world cup and Carlin cup they have won

who cares if we could have had a penalty in the second half! judging by our ones in the penalty shoot out United wouldn't have scored it anyway. Berbatov has some serious making up to do. There was no effort there whatsoever, he made a fool of himself.

And to you above spireite-till-i-die, nobody really counts the community shield, you are just be pedantic. In my eyes United haven't won anything meaningful this season yet, all "3" trophies won were pretty easy. Don't win the league or champs league it will be a poor season for United

man utd fan here in south africa.

even here, everyone feels that the FA Cup is the best, oldest, most prestigious cup competition in the world.

was watching monday night football talk show here on our local sports channel, supersport, and an old Southampton great, Terry Paine, was extremely critical of SAF's team selection. He was of the opinion which i also share and that id that SAF made a mockery of not just the FA cup, but the FANS as well.

There is absolutely no justification for not playing your best available team for an FA Cup semi!!!

And do not even get me started on Berbatov.
30m pound waste of space. How can anyone justify his price over Tevez. I will gladly pay 30m for someone like Tevez over Berbatov any day of the week!

why wasn't scholes or tevez our first couple kickers?

From team selection to penalty takers selection, SAF got it horribly wrong yesterday!!!

carling cup. more than arsenal have won. anyways..... Everton did deserve the win, however it was a penalty even moyles thought it was. And dont think Chelsea are gonna walk away with the FA cup, this competition is all about giant-slaying. Even as a man u fan i thought winning it all was beyond everyone 's reach. But to be honest id rather win the premship or the champions league as winning those mean more.

And stop saying it was disrespectful to play a youth team because that simply isnt the case. The fact of the matter is we are still battling for the premship and we are not gonna have an easy time in the champs league. And we are going to need the best from our players

Credits due where credits due. Go on everton, hope u can go all the way!
