the game tonightManchester City by luckyAsian_Sensation (U13249068) 16 April 2009 Newcastle fan by the way and I watched bits and bobs of the game tonight and just wanted to say how well City played. I thought they were awesome and all of the talk surrounding the future of Mark Hughes is nonsense. No doubt if City had played like this for the bulk of the season they would have been pushing for a top 6 finish. Was great to see the superstars in the Man City rise to the big occasion and you were unlucky not to go through. I think the future is bright for a Man City. With a few more additions in the right areas I can see City doing really well next season! Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

ArgieWizard (U12313792) posted Apr 17, 2009 To be fair, in the context of the whole competition last night's performance is a bit rich of City - they finished the group stage with a poor result against Santander, were dodgy against Copenhagen (4-3 on agg I think) and scraped past Aalborg on pens thanks to Given. Playing a decent side like Hamburg away they were thoroughly beaten and though City shone last night and deserved a third goal to take the game into extra time, progression beyond this stage wouldn't be a fair reflection of how they've played in the competition as a whole.
