Away Fan Help For Monday (Rochdale)

League Two Shrewsbury Town
comment on the article

Hey Shrews fans, unlucky today, gutted you didn't beat the buckets for us :( Should be a cracking game on Monday, I'm travelling down on the train and I was hoping you could answer a couple of quick questions just to help me out.

I suppose the walk from Shrewsbury Station to the ground is 40 mins? (About 2 miles) Can anyone help with directions of where to turn and walk coming out of the ground. With such a long walk ahead I don't want to head in the wrong direction. I have looked for this information everywhere but the roads don't seem clear.

And also, is the retail park close to the ground? It seems so but I'd just like to check and make sure. Thanks very much for the help guys, hope it's a good game on Monday. Cheers.

hey mate,
Fellow Dale fan here.
The best thing to do is to get a bus to the ground really.
If you come out of the train station and go across the road almost straight in front of you.
This then goes round a left hand corner which takes you along the front by the river. The bus station is on the left hand side just 5 mins walk away.
The best bus to get is the one that goes straight up to the ground run by Tanat Valley.Or you can get a bus that goes to Meole Brace which goes close to the ground.Just ask the driver to let you know where to get off.
I got this bus last year, takes about 15 mins.
Its a bit of a mare getting back but if you have plenty of time before your train leaves then can be ok.hope this helps.
Do you know you need to buy a ticket to get into the ground as no cash payments at the turnstiles? There is a ticket office by the away end for us.18 on the day.
Get there earlyish if you havent as there will be a few of us there Monday.

Yeah the retail park is about a 10-15 min walk from the ground.Has a McDonalds,Pizza Hut,Sainsburys. No pub.
There is the Brooklands Hotel which is on the bus route on the way to the ground, but gets busy, ask driver to drop you off if you fancy a pint.Otherwise theres a Wetherspoons 5 mins down the road from the BUS station. Its called the Shrewsbury Hotel.
Up the Dale!!
