... Looks like he has opted not to play Gorgon or Hutton!

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foo...

I am glad that he has not picked the "better" players!

he wud not be able to justify pickin them after treatin Boyd the same way! No doubt about it that Gordon and Hutton are the best we have but i must give Burley credit for not pickin these guys due to match practise

I do believe though that Hutton will have some part to play againgst Iceland!

cheers

that macnaughten boy needs to get a grip and maybe watch the english championship more often because the standard in that league is very good. iwelumo is also in double figures for the season so get ur facts straight tube

For once i actually agree with what Burley has done here. Players who aren't match fit are a liability. McGregor is a capable understudy and Berra should get the nod over McManus even if McManus was fit. As for right back i would be tempted to go with Whittaker instead of Alexander in that Whittaker poses a greater threat on the counter attack. here is the line up i personally would play

McGregor

Whittaker
Berra
Caldwell
Naysmith

Brown
Ferguson
Rae
Fletcher
Morrison

Miller/ McCormack

miller has experience but has a hamstring problem so might not be worth risking.

i agree with Darrenb14, the championship is a good league. and a lot of the players are of a high standard. although i would also like to see the likes of Lee Wallace and Lee Wilkie called up. Both are in outstanding form and would make a great addition to the squad.

the ideal squad would be:

Gordon

Hutton
Berra
Wilkie
Wallace

Morrison
Fletcher
Rae
Ferguson
Commons

McFadden (for a 4-5-1 formation with rae in the defensive midfield role)

for 4-4-2:

Gordon

Hutton
Berra
Wilkie
Wallace

Morrison
Ferguson
Fletcher
Commons

Fletcher
McCormack

Thoughts please!!

I quite like your 11 but I might swap Rae for McCormack.

Some people on 606 do not give the CCC enough credit, it is the 4th most supported league in Europe. There are many of our players in the top few teams in the CCC & lets hope they are playing in the Premiership next season.

Lets also hope we don't have so many injuries for the next set of qualifiers. ok

indeed it would be good to have the full squad available. However injuries allow fringe players the opportunity to play international football and show they are capable. The line up was that which i think Burley will pick. Personally i would go 4-4-2 and therefore mccormack would come in for Rae. we need to attack them or we will get destroyed

as far as i am aware morrison is fit
as for the line up i seem to have said it would be the selection i would make given the squad. it is in fact the squad i expect burley to pick with perhaps one or two changes in alexander at right back and he might go with iwelumo as the lone striker because of the physical presence he offers

No he hasn't, he's been on the form of his life since Brian Clough took over.
