Saturday's Six Nations feast

Six Nations

Ah, to be alive and typing on a Six Nations weekend like this! Truly these are special days we are living through.

Right. Italy v Wales first up, with text commentary kicking off around the 1415 mark. After a brief pause to get the breath back - and muse on the impact or otherwise of the Henson-Roberts centre pairing - we then go Scotland-Ireland at 1700. Bish-bash-bosh.

Usual rules apply - I'll be dipping back into this thread for comment, analysis and bare-faced rants to drop into the live commentary. Get busy and we'll reconvene at regular spots.

hawick;
Fair point, i see what you mean now. I never underestimate the French but i do feel that they will be pushed by England tomorrow.

Take a stout on me.

Wales will beat Ireland by > 15 points. France will beat England (just) and it will be triple crown and championship to Wales. Ireland have only impressed me in one game - the game against France !!

Moffet...sorry GhostofCampese, so then how many times have Wales impressed you this tournament? I liked it when they beat a shocking Scotland team, could barely put away a terrible England team (who played for 20mins with 14players), lost to France who should have won by a lot more and then just scrapped passed Italy...I thought you said this Welsh team would show England how to beat Italy, what happened?

That was a big error not putting out a full team, showed that some players arent as good as some say they are notably, Andy Powell and Jamie Roberts...also what has happened to Hook? Wasnt he meant to be the best fly half in the northern hemisphere?

Let me know your thoughts?

I think Andy Powell's becoming a bit of a one trick pony. And Hook certainly is NOT the best no.10 we have. I would've taken him off after the 1st half and put Jones on sooner. 11 changes is a bit mad for a great team as well - if it aint broke and all that. I know the coaches have to experiment now and then but not in the Six Nations!

Chris - who is moffett?? That's twice that has been referenced. Anyway - Wales did the right thing today by testing an untried 15 against what turned out to be a spirited Italian side, who, let;s be honest here, played 10 times better than they did against that scrappy old England team, and yet, Wales still won. Remember also, Wales out scored italy two tries to zero, zip, nil, nadir points. But the boot of the italian team kept them in the game.

I thought Italy were plucky, and they wanted to play a little bit of rugger.

If France play as well as they did against Wales tomorrow, England are losing big time. I think it could be one of the games of the 6N. If England can keep the yellow cards to less than three, and the penalty count under 20, they may do it, but I am thinking they have not got a hope truth be said.

cheers
