Every F1 Weekend centres around the Sunday race, we all agree that it is a test of an F1 team, not just a driver. So at the end of a season we wonder, what would happen if Jenson drove a Maclaren?
So I suggest, every F1 circuit/country association would find Road Car Manufacturing Partner for the weekend. So lets say in Barcelona, SEAT turn up and give the drivers a car each - exactly the same car. They do a fast lap to determine the grid, and off you pop for a 20 lap - 50 minute race. That can be Saturdays entertainment. The on Sunday the F1 cars come out with the fast laps in the morning.
That way, over the course of the season, we find out who the best F1 Team is and Who the best driver is!
The car manufacturers could do that quite easily. F1 costs could continue to reduce because we are less focused on them. Excitement would increase. And most important - Driver Skill would be measured accurately, at last!
