What now for cricket in Pakistan?

Does the attack on the Sri Lankan team spell the end of international cricket in Pakistan?

The incident follows last yearís withdrawals by Australia and South Africa, and the Pakistan Cricket Boardís efforts to ensure the safety of cricketers visiting the country.

And what about Pakistanís joint hosting of the 2011 World Cup, which is now clearly in serious doubt?

Pakistan should be banned from playing international cricket home and away. Their players should also be banned from playing county or ipl/1cl cricket. Sanctions should be bought against them.

There is no freedom of speech on this forum. You cannot even mention that Javed Miandad's son's father-in-law is a terrorist. He(Dawood Ibrahim) is wanted in India for Mumbai terror attacks in the 1990s.

Dear rambo

Don't you think that is EXACTLY what the terrorists want?

Ladies and Gentlemen. I have one comment which I am sure will have everyone of you thinking hard about.

We sit and moan and groan about things all day long. Yet we do nothing about it! Yes, Pakistan has serious problems. There is a crisis in Zimbabwe. There are major problems in many other countries around the world. Yet we do nothing about it.

Do we not think it is about time that we all become accountable for our own destiny. Deal with things in truth and honesty. Deal with the bad and replace with the good.

Frankly, we are all to blame for what is happening in our lives because we are all to complacent.

Yours in thought

Nasser Hussain: “Why did they sanction a Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan at such a volatile time? Why did the Sri Lanka board agree to send their players when other cricket boards had refused? It is clear that Pakistan is unstable, with people being advised not to go there or travel around the country unless they absolutely have to. The ICC know that but have been trying to send cricketers there - and then this happens.”

Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a position that I for one, was fearful of happening, being, Sports people being attacked by terrorists.

Nothing can happen until, & this goes for every country, a security review is carried out & every players safety is guaranteed before any Test can continue.

What is preventing something similar happening on Friday in either South Africa or Trinidad & Tobago?

We now know these terrorists move in the dark & it makes not one iota of a difference to them, if 'they' carry out these attacks anywhere in the World.

Drastic measures? No. We are where we are, unfortunately.
