No big surprises in that lineup...I'd have gone with Bradley Davies instead of Charteris (lot more power & aggression), and Peel over Phillips (everytime) for more speed off the base & ability to raise tempoRoberts/Shanks will cover wing if needed. Hope it's NOT needed as I don't think Henson is match fit (game time or state of mind) to compete with the French midfieldTom James is a quality player but not enough game time post injury, and his discipline needs to improve, especially against French hookers...lol. I see him touring with Wales in the summer and scoring a LOT of tries!

Got to be honest Richard Fussell is playing better than both Jones and Tom James. Huge work rate for a winger, certainly on a par with Shane in that respect.
Would've liked to see Peel or Hook making a start, rather than warming the bench. Jones has been an awesome playmaker, but his place kicking has been woeful. You really need someone with the all round game, or you have another designated kicker right from the go e.g. Halfpenny. That would take some of the pressure off him anyway.Despite that, I am hopeful of an absolute titanic clash on Friday. Very confident Wales can pull it out of the bag and carry on for a 2nd Grand Slam. Or am I getting too far ahead of myself?
This French team is at best average and on Friday will be short on first picks and depth due to injuries; Wales to go from strength to strength and win well with a score not necessarily reflected in a big points margin but in control of the game right to the end
Fussell would be a good choice over jones needed game time really fussell is doing well thought james was suspended anyway at the initial 2 games. Charteris I just cannot se him doing anything he is a lubering oaf would rather see davies as jas been said a bit more grunt espeacially against the french. Still sir warren knows best a full squad again!!! roll on friday night what a weekend to look forward to
if Henson gets on I think he should definatly go to 12 as I think Roberts is born to play13. On Saturday England had him all rapped up at 12 but he made one fantastic break from the 13 position.this is why Henson and Roberts' partnership will be so good as Henson is so great at straightening up the welsh line and has excellent distribution. So if Henson starts against Italy I think we'll see about five tries out of Roberts. Also I think the ospreys should dish out a few million to cement that partnership at club level too.
Think the team is spot on at the moment. JT needs more game time, probably play against Italy. Hook isn't getting the ospreys backs firing in big games, hence their lack of tries in the H cup. Fussell is a none starter in my book, don't think he's good enough at the moment and would get exposed.

I thnik the selection is a good one by Gatand, JT hasn't played for a while and AWJ has taken the lineout responsibilty with ease...Henson is a great player, and will most probably get a start against Italy, and who knows maybe against Ireland too.Henson at 12 and Roberts at 13 will be great to watch, I'm just worried about Roberts pace in defence if he has to take the outside man... but we'll see!
Top selection for me, as walys I think it will be a case of if the French fancy it - unfortunately I think they will!! Could be a titanic game but we can nick it by one score - one player doesn't make a team but Shane is something else, as we all know, and there will be definitely some broken play where he will be inhis element!! If they can do this it MUST be back to back SLAMS!!!

Anybody else think that Gatland might make an example of Henson for the French game, by making him warm the bench all night. See how it attitude is to being a "team player". Roberts & Shanklin are going very well at the moment, and as much as I'd like to see Henson/Roberts, I think Gatland won't put him on in Paris (unless serious injury calls for it.)
