"A lot of work was done to ensure we believed he could pay the prize money he was offering and that money was paid into bank accounts in advance," Giles Clarke the ECB Chairman upon the news that the Stanford organisation has been charged with fraudulent practice by U.S. authorities.
Uhm, which bank accounts exactly? Did anyone else see this quick interview? The man couldn't even look the interviewer in the eye. When asked if getting involved with Stanford was regrettable he evaded the question by harping on about what to do now and about how many friends (I assume he means within West Indian Cricket) are going to be affected by the potential collapse of the Stanford organisation.
In the past week I've seen both Giles Clark and David Collier 'working hard' out in the Caribbean glowing like Aubergines (more from excessive amounts of red wine than sunshine one would suspect).
Just remember, these two are England Crickets highest and finest. So, it's nice to see they have their finger on the pulse eh? Good judgement n all :)
