After only 30 minutes of deliberation, it has been recinded, come on Rob Styles!!!! Do you make a mistake.

Who would like to start a campaign to have this official removed from refereeing football matches or for him to have some ban!! Lets say three matches!

Boing boing

Honestly speaking, the way I see it is that - the fact that Rob Styles still officiates in the Premiership is a failure of the refereeing system in the Premiership. Rob Styles is no better than Uriah Rennie who is no longer reckoned with.

Mr Rob Styles makes just too many mistakes to continue to officiate at this level. Anyone who can look back would remember how many times Mr Styles gave terrible decisions against Fulham such that Chris Coleman was so provoked that he almost attached him physically on those occassions.

Remember his costly errors at Liverpool and so many other games. What more, he is so arrogant that you just don't know what to make of him.

To make matters worse, and to back Tony Mowbray up, the other time, retired referee Graham Poll shocked many of us when he stated that referees do consider people as England Captain, national team players, etc, when deciding to book them.

Gosh!!! Such shenanigans from a supposedly ex-world class referee!!! Maybe Mr.Poll was considering the player's status in the World Cup so much that he forgot to issue a red card after giving a secong yellow card in the same game.

Let's remove sentiments from our thoughts and just consider whether referees such as Rob Styles are good enough for our game. At least, you can say Mike Riley is slightly better even though whenever he officiates a game involving a particular team in Red among the top four, you can almost bet that he will 'manufacture' a penalty for them by hook or by crook.

This explains why it will be a long time before an English referee officiates in the Final of such tournaments as the World Cup, Champions League, etc.

The long and short of it is that, I just lose the desire to watch a game on television once I realise Rob Styles would be the referee. It is just not worth it because you know, ab initio, that such a game would be marred by controversies.

I watched Barca vs Espanyol last night and every 50/50 went Barca's way. An Espanyol player fairly pressures a Barca player who just tumbles to the floor... free kick. Same with Real Madrid.

You have hit the nail on the head there

---------------------------------

It was utter garbage.

Do you think all those goals Derby County conceded last season were an illusion or something?

------------------------

Er...no, but how is that relevant ?

Mowbray is completely right - the top players at the top clubs can get away with acting like spoilt little kids - and most refs seem to try and pander to their tantrums, rather than punish them like they would a lesser-status player.
Rooney gets away with screaming in the faces of linesman wuith his rottweiler-face every game, and ronaldo kicks people everytime he gets tackled like a 5-year-old whose just had his sweets stolen - but nothing from the ref except perhaps a free-kick for him, rather than against him.

Any supporter who comes on here and says that the big four don't get decisions going there way more often has clearly been watching games through rose tinted glasses. For example Rooney not getting sent of for desent in the recent Stoke game. Gerrard's numerous dodgy penalties for example Sheff Utd last season (I'm a Liverpool supporter by the way). Living with a Fulham fan it does tend to open your eyes to the situation. Down with Styles who is aweful. I also think if refs are gonna call people by their first names they should make the effort to know everyones. Mowbray is justified in what he has said and must be severely fustrated over the incident.

As for any of the Man U fans on here arguing for Styles and for there not being a bias is it any surprise they have had the two worst decisions in the Prem this season go their way ie Bolton pen and Robinson red

Decisions will balance themselves out. Liverpool also get their fair share of dodgy decisions, so do Chelsea. Last I checked, we're not competing against West Brom for the title.

The amount of times Rooney gets called offside when he's timed his run perfectly, or when someone dares contest the ball with the 'keeper and a free kick's given...

The problem isn't some half-baked conspiracy theory against the lower-level clubs. It's that the referees have too much to do.

Solution: Put another official on the pitch, or *shock* embrace digital technology to help with decision making. God knows every other sport has.

i disagree that "decisions balance themselves out". This is unproven Sun newspaper talk.

But i do agree with technology, its so easy to use and implement, i think its criminal to not have it.

the big four people think get preferential treatment most people think. but i beleive this is much more the case for man utd than arsenal ,chelsea or liverpool.
i remember mash getting sent off for politely asking why, rooney can scream and swear at officials, nowt happens, and ronaldo , is as bad

"i remember mash getting sent off for politely asking why"

That was against my lot last season. He'd been mouthing off at the ref all game !

If you were right, he would also have been sent off for diving and waving imaginary card to try and get an Everton plasyer sent off

Perhaps Mr Styles would help his cause if he spoke to the cameras as much as he plays to them.
