i think rafa will be manager for the next 5 years and also i think he will bring the premier league at home. The most important think is to let let him work in peace and also as a professional he need the power to buy player.

Rafa just wants to get fired. Setting himself up to take over Man City job. He well tell Man City owner he can convince Torres to go to City.

Rafa won't go to Real, as he knows he'll have no control over there.

Pretty much the same at City really.

rafa would go to real, because he would tell them exactly what he wanted before he signed on the dotted line...and given he won the league with valencia and european cup with liverpool they would 100% agree and i bow to his every wish.

saying that calderon has resigned and there is no saying reals next president would want him.

Rafa was given a budget, as all managers are, it's rumoured that he valued Barry at J10-12 Million, Parry went into negotiations on that figure. Villa wanted more. Considering that LFC had already splashed J20Million on Keane, it would seem that by paying the amount Villa wanted, any budget they had would be broken
-----------------------
Rafa was told by the owners that the money for the Berry deal was there all along without having to sell Alonso, hence the many interviews he had which confirmed this.

The reason we didnt get him is because Parry took so long to broker a deal. You have to realise that doesnt do his job properly. He doesnt keep up with negotiations. He does a bit of work, goes on holiday for a while and then trys a bit more, goes away again and then either fails or gets it done at the last minute. With the Barry transfer he diddled around for so long that Villa just got fed up and called the whole thing off.

As for Rafas signings, well as I said earlier, many of the flops hes bought have been second or third choices and in most cases he has got his money back or made a profit on them. Being good in the transfer market isnt all about every signing being good, but also getting your money back if things dont work out.

Anyway, most of Rafas first choice signings have done the business. Agger, Skirtel, Reina, Torres, Mascherano, Kuyt, Arbeloa and Alonso are all good examples of this. Even youngsters like Lucas and Ryan Babel have shown promise.

For Liverpool to compete with the likes of Man. U. and Arsenal, which (unlike Man. City and Chelsea in the past) do not have access to endless funding, the manager has to have the last word on both incoming and outgoing transfers (within the budget made available by the owners). The same applies to the academy, which after all is another entry point into the reserves and first team (additional to transfers).

Rafa is right to request the same degree of control over football matters enjoyed by Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson. Having missed on such targets as Cristiano Rolando (at Valencia) and Nemanja Vidic (at Liverpool) because he has in the past not enjoyed the kind of control over transfer that he is now demanding, it is only natural that he should now insist on a framework that allows him to grasp opportunities as they come (within the budget limitations of the club). I just hope that the owners grasp that this is an essential aspect for Rafa’s project at Liverpool – and change their mind before it’s too late.

Liverpool are finally challenging for top honours again as in the days of Shankly, Paisley and Dalglish, and I for one would be devastated should we miss out yet again as a result of the owners of LFC failing to retain one of the best managers in the world. A look at Valencia since Rafa’s exit should be enough to scare the wits out of any LFC fan – and hopefully the owners will see it this way too.

BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!

Well, have a clause put in that says Rafa (in his 5yr contract) has 12 months or 1 season to do the job without reporting to Rick but directly to the Yanks. Based on Rafa's performance during the 12 months, Rafa can either continue with the status quo or start reporting to Rick again. Rick would have left by this time...
