Sell Drogba in Summer and buy Fabiano

Premier League Chelsea

Chelsea will sell striker Didier Drogba in the summer and are confident of signing Seville's Luis Fabiano to replace him. (Daily Star)

I think this sounds like a really good deal, Drogba really doesn't look interested or bothered if he plays or not and, is consistantly putting in some poor performances. Fabiano is looking like a great player for the future and has expressed his willingness to play to Scolari. The only problem being does it have to wait for the summer, we want rid of drogba now.

ah well, it was good whilst it lasted. most true blue fans had seen this coming for some time. the rot started with when we bought sheva & ballack to the club. losing and not replacing gallas & huth didn't help. madrid took robben & someone felt duff was no longer up to the job - btw, he won 2 leagues titles with us. the manager got the sack - with a fantastic winning record - & our top player never got over it. kenyon is meant to be bringing new talent to the club - yet he's let so much go and not replaced them - he's a waste of time. i think we've got a few bleak years ahead of us.

I think Kenyon has been a disaster in the Transfer market, We've bought players on the way out and paid them astronomical wages. We've sold
Duff and Robben and replaced them with swp and Malouda..I'm sorry am I missing something here?
Then we ship out Wayne bridge. Chelsea may have managed to win some Advertising space and spnsorship, but where to now? We need at least one or two wingers or one or two strikers, in all three new attacking players and definitely one creative in the park...Duff was shipped out because Wright philips was English, black and Kenyon thought this would attract a certain demographic..I don't think so..especially when you're winning damn all. Kenyon's problem is that heistrying to appeal to manydifferent markets to make Chelsea global, fine! well done! But success is the real appeal not failure and disruption. Hopefully Scolari won't be impeded anymore and allowed to go his own way with the funds available..Kenyon...butt out! You don't understand how to select club players.

the only realistic transfer possible is fabiano...buying players like podolski and ribery is impossible...podolski wud only go to cologne nd ribery wud be stayin at munich for atleast anothr year..and also now j,cole out for another 2wks..so we are really in a mess..surely not gonna win anythin this season..the only good thing is scolari surely wud be given a lot of time to improve things round here..bigshots like ballack and drogba wud leave and real performers wud come in..bt hope scolari doesnt forget this is club football and most importantly its English league where players really need to be fit and strong...its not international football where playrs jus play once a month..coz deco went missing after 2-3 games and has been terrible for many games now.. also agree with 'londonsFinestClub' that peter kenyons transfer dealings hav been a disaster...he surely shud go

I keep reading DD has failed to recapture last season's form. Apart from superb performances against Arsenal and Liverpool, he was woeful last season. In his 5 seasons with us, only the 3rd was really any good. Remember when he got booed by his own fans when being MoM v City in his second season? yes, he was THAT good. The point is - he gave us one great season, the rest have been average to below average, sprinkled with the occasional stellar performance (usually when faced with Hyppia!).

I'd sell him tomorrow but other than man City, who's daft enough to pay over £5M for a 30 yr old CF with dodgy knees??? Ah, remember the days when we used to pay big transfer fees for has been strikers...?

All this talk about buying X and Y is irrelevant - no one will buy DD for more than £5M and the real talent will not move during january. And we ain't got no money!

just a slight correction to blue_ricah. Jose Morinho quit rather than was sacked although he was going to be. At least he kept his dignity!

Thing is, Drogba is 30 so he's not exactly young in terms of football so even if Moriniho were to take him on. I don't think Drogba would reach the same potentional he had about 4-5 years ago when we won the league 2 years in a row. Even if he isn't playing his best, he's older now so he might as well play at Chelsea to the end.

Drogba is a shadow of what he was two seasons ago yet in his own mind he is as good still as he was then. Sad delusional figure of fun these days - I see a pitiful season or two ahead in French football followed by more lucrative modelling of underwear and aftershave provided he keeps his looks. Frankly he could take the field in his pants right now - it would at least be honest.

On the one hand I hear complaints about the players we let go and the less than adequate replacements, and on the other hand it seems that losing Jose was too blame.

Many of the players who have been a loss were here when Jose arrived and many of the 'Duff' (excuse the pun) replacements were brought in by him.

Much as I share the views about some of the players that came in and some that left, and I have no love for the chairman, it makes no sense to blame players that Jose bought while complaining that he was sacked!

i agree with bluebuchanan, drogba is very lazy, sell him while we can still get a decent price for him he does not do himself or chelsea fc any favours with his attitude , does he think he would get into man utd first team squad sir alex would have outed him by now , watched the game against stoke and and least the team were trying 100% big improvement on the performance against united and have to give stoke credit for the way they played , IT WILL COME BLUES KEEP IT UP

Cfc will not sell DD, club should be retiring and certifying players of such servitude and calibre, rewarding his past services will encourage the future players,Man-u are not d biggest spender today but lots of quality players in d world will rather identify wit d club, than mancity, cfc has come under light so dont sell Didi but with Lamps and Terry, he will pave good way for future cfc players. Peter Kenyon,Roman others think wisely for International followership, me thinks Didi wants back seriously into reckoning fast.
