Thanks for keeping us up last season, but no thanks for dropping us back in the brown stuff. This is good news, even better that the first team coaching staff have been sacked as well, BUT it's a long - a very long - road out of the relegation dogfight and we're not out of the woods by any means. Don't want to sound too glum, just realsitic. I'm happy about the Board's decision, but there's still a lot wrong with NCFC behind the scenes as well as in the spotlight. Still, the Board did something they don't often do... take direct action! So, whose the next in line?

I think the board have made the right move here - The performances were beginning to take me back to the Grant(even Hamilton) eras. Hopefully an experienced manager will come in to inspire the players, Curbs anyone?

Norwich city have had financial troubles since I can remember but why does everyone blame delia for the clubs lack of progression????? Delia has pumped money (£12m) into the club to keep us going!! Yes she doesnt have the financial clout of an Abramovich or Cullum, but she has been a loyal supporter who has covered well for the departure of the Turners. *It is also no coincidence that a book release of hers coincided with the 2005 january transfer window thus providing funds for the ashton deal.

Unfortunately most ncfc fans are unaware of the cullum situation and so choose to blame the board for denying us access to the riches which would see us leave this division. However Cullum only offered £20m for the club which has existing debts of £20m. For a takeover to occur, existing debts have to be paid off by the existing owners(delia, michael wynn-jones etc), so essentially cullum would have been getting ownership of the club for free. This is an acceptable deal which would have only been accepted by a club nearing bankruptcy, which norwich are not. Rumour has it that the board would have sold for £50m, a price which matches the value of the shares acquired. I doubt an astute businessman like Cullum would have swamped the manager with money if he was not prepared to offer a small chunk of his £1.7bn fortune to offer the board a decent price!!!! Why this was not disclosed to the fans we will never know but unfortunately that is the problem with the board today, we only hear Doncaster nattering about sustainability!!!!

Saw him at Newcastle and he obviously isn't that great a loss. You'll probably get someone better now. Like Delia! She could 'cook' a pie from frozen for them at half time.

i was at the game last night!i travel to watch norwich from oxfordshire regually!i could see from the the squad warming up that the attitude during warm up was not right and that there are many issues at the club, and it is having a major effect on what happens in the team!my thought is that bring brian robson back into managment...........

Well done, Norwich, on getting rid of Hurricane Roeder. The man is despised by most of us West Ham fans. I've always liked Norwich (maybe its your kit), but that changed when he took over at Carrow Road. Now that he's gone, you're back in my good books!

Let's hope people see this incompetent parasite for what he is, and that he never manages another club again.

Can't say I'm sorry about this one. Although I did not think this way when he was appointed, there was something arrogant about Roeder I did not like.

I'm not optimistic over the future of Norwich though and I can not put my finger on it. This time round maybe it dates from loosing that game against Fulham, I'm not sure.

It's hard to explain. I do have the feeling there is something rotten at Norwich but I can't actually figure out what it is.

Perhaps (although personally, I can't see reason to blame them), a new board is needed? Maybe there are some, I don't know, ghosts of the past? that need to go for a fresh start?

Roeder had far to many unjustified delusions of grandeur amd an massive ego problem which caused chaos at Carrow Rd.........the board should actually take their time on the new appointment and NOT hamd out a 3 year contract regardless..........A contract based on results seems entirely fair

Here's something I don't understand:

Roeder is hired on in 2007, pulls the club out of relegation but not two years later is sacked. I have seen this happen to many other managers this season (some have resigned) and my question is:

Why?

These managers seem to bring a sense of hope when they first join, then they either help the club out of relegation or push them to promotion, then the next thing I know their sacked or leaving the job! I just do not understand why they stick it out...

Yes, but while Roeder helped us to stay up last season, he seemed hell bent on taking us down this time around. The guy had completely lost the plot and had to go!

I shouted "ROEEEDERRRS FINALLY GONE!" when I saw it on Sky Sports news. Then I composed myself and realised how silly I must have looked. Did get a few chuckles from Roeders "fighting talk" though. winkeye

I don't even care if the new manager struggles to get results for a while, his people skills can't be any worse than Roeders!

Think its for the best. He didnt inspire me much, even put my back out, so hopefully someone new will do the trick, but not Bryan Robson!!!!! Aidy Boothroyd for me i reckon
