Blue Nose Ger!!!! (U8522817) posted Jan 13, 2009 If this deal had been in the summer i think he would of gone, but he is playing regular football at the team he loves. Therefore he is probably saying im only going to move if i get payed silly money. He probably did tell McLeish he was interested in the summer but his situation has now changed.

James Black (U3541680) posted Jan 13, 2009 i cant help but think why bother with all this causing unease and bad vibes with existing players who will wonder why the fuss to get a player that doesnt seem that keen to come and nobody else is interested in his services anyway. Dont that kinda tell us something. Im not convinced this is a good deal for us so why are we trying so hard. If the man doesnt have the balls to do his own deal and insists on sending an agent as his mommy who has self interest in obtaining a huge wage deal so he can earn his percentage, well i dont think he is the kinda player we need.

k1llie1869 (U9087128) posted Jan 13, 2009 The bottom line is Boyd does not want to leave Rangers. He loves the club and feels that he has not let them down (when he has been picked!). Boyd will dig his heels in at Rangers as he will feel as long as he does nothing wrong (but score goals) the manager is the one who will get the pressure NOT him. Boyd has been offered more money at Birmingham but obviously does not want to play for them. He did the same at Kilmarnock, Cardiff offered £500,000 for him and were offering a great package but he turned them down and played for Killie for another 5 months knowing Rangers were going to come in for him in the January window. He simply feels that he is good enough for Rangers and that no manager is going to force him out the door (as long as he is doing the business on the field). Both Le Guen and Smith have/had problems with Boyd but he is still their and if Smith doesn't pick him and Rangers lose or draw, Smith will be under real pressure.

BlueNoseAckers (U13672775) posted Jan 13, 2009 Forget Boyd. I haven't seen him play enough to make a judgement but the size of the fee and Rangers willingness to let him go, would indicate he's not that special. And we don't want another so-so forward cluttering the benches. No offence intended but recent Scottish imports have hardly set set the place alight.

Bristol-Chosen-Few-RangersFC (U9556412) posted Jan 13, 2009 He doesn't want to leave Rangers in my view, they just need the money for him, thats why he turned down Birmingham, hes playing for his boyhood club at the moment and hasn't even mentioned leaving. Top quality striker though, hes not the best all rounder but his goals outweigh that by far.
